Attorneys for the state and Planned Parenthood will face off in court next week over the upcoming ban of a video-conferencing method for distributing abortion pills.
The Iowa Board of Medicine voted to ban the practice in August.
The board says the procedure is too risky and should be supervised by a doctor in person.
Planned Parenthood is fighting the ruling. In September, the organization asked a judge to issue a stay on the ruling and overturn the decision.
The hearing is scheduled for October 30th.
The ban is scheduled to take effect on November 6th.
Just which pill (S) are they talking about, several are on the market that will cause a early stage abortion, but are also used for other illnesses. Cyotec being one of them.
