I am no fan of this super snooping, but come on this has been going on by our government and others forever. I can’t get excited over our spying on our “allies” , but I am really pissed at the level our government has jumped the spying on American citizens.
When the Wikileaks came out there was an extraordinary amount of animosity towards Merkel shown in them.
I think her responsible, adult fiscal policy was the big problem.

With technology these days available to such polidiots one would think they would use at the very least 20 year old technology such as the old Motorola STU3 type telephone in their castle, limo or private jet vs a friggin basic smartphone ...... I seem to remember the retreads at the KGB even went back to manual typewriters and couriers for their secret squirrel stuff.
But then if I wanted to test the waters per se I would do such as the German PM and see what floated to the top and who, where and why etc ...

What makes you think they are not? This kind of thing has been going on by us, the Russians, Brits, Germans, probably the Chinese, Israel and anyone else who has the technology.
