Exclusive–Palin: Congress Has America Caught Up in 'Endless Extortion Scheme'
Big Government ^ | October 21, 2013 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 10/21/2013 9:33:31 PM PDT by Bratch

America is suffering from an epic case of Armageddon fatigue.

Budget showdown, government shutdown, debt ceiling debacle—the stakes are real but the establishment seems to feed off the chaos they create as a means to foment fear and outrage and translate it into campaign donations for themselves.

Look closely and you’ll see that something seismic is going on under the surface of the manufactured chaos in D.C.

Washington has morphed into an extortion racket, a place where members of the permanent political class threaten to inflict legislative and regulatory pain to extract campaign donations that they can then siphon into the pockets of themselves and their family members.

In a new book featured this Sunday on 60 Minutes titled Extortion: How Politicians Extract Your Money, Buy Votes, and Line Their Own Pockets, Peter Schweizer explains how Washington politicians use a set of mafia-style legislative tactics to extort people and industries into donating to them out of fear of political and legal reprisals.

Schweizer interviewed former Chairman of Apache Corporation Ray Plank. Plank said campaign cash and lobbying contracts now function as “protection money” to keep lawmakers and regulators from going after you.

I remember talking to Sarah Palin around Wasilla in 90’s, before she was even Mayor; we lived in Sutton back then. Her short reign as Governor was the most responsible government I ever have seen over my entire life. Granted, oil prices were high which enabled her to do good things that benefited all of Alaska; but her policies still rocked the Republican Party to it’s core up here, shame that it has all went back to normal since she has gone. I really believe she would beat Begich senseless. Could you all just imagine her shakin the Senate’s Tree in D.C.

Thanks for the first hand info, and your on site take on her great works in Alaska.

Oh yea....she’s shaking them up...getting them rattled....and hopefully with Cruz and Lee’s help get a bunch of them to roll out of DC.

Give ‘em the old Shake, Rattle and Roll Sarah!

Onyx my friend, thanks for the ping.

We agree!

Sarah’s good nature fails to produce the nasty edge some deem essential to being successful and noteworthy.

Cool!

Everything they throw at her ends up blowing apart in their faces. All the enemy has is each other, it’s political incest the way they go on and on.

Sarah Palin...living rent free in the heads of the “progressives”

Microsoft found out the hard way about this. They weren't donating politically until they were hauled before congress and threatened with being broken up as a monopoly. Then, they started contributing.

Need to vote out the bums and replace them with honest people—or people less corrupt. Sarah needs to run and so do a whole bunch of folks! Tea Party needs to morph into the Sons of Liberty and the Liberty Party. The Democrats would even pay for it! They would think it would do a Ross Perot and split the GOP Vote—but we can outfox these slow witted Liberals and turn the tables on them.

I wrote about this stuff a year ago. What has not been talked about is the drug money in the large cities used to protect the large drug syndicates. Under the table money is keeping offshore banks happy.

Once again, Sarah Palin is revealing that there are a lot of emperors wearing no clothes.

The reelection rate, whatever it is in the House, 96% or so won't change. As Senators Kelly Ayotte, Jeff Flake, Ron Johnson illustrate, it is not uncommon for Tea Partiers to drift to the dark side. How many Leftists ever become conservative?

The current corrupt system pays very well. Reform will not emerge from the people who profit from it.

Sarah has a degree in journalism. I know a little journalism myself. What she has done with her degree is world class, Pulitzer material.

but that our corrupt Congressional Ldrs..always falling on the sword.. no coherent mssg.
always snatching defeat from the jaws of victory; while feathering their own nest.

The Federal apparatus in DC from both parties is the greatest criminal enterprise in the history of the planet. They have a 3 trillion dollar a year revenue stream extorted from the productive class under threat of imprisonment and merely fight over who gets to control the take.

Only a lunatic would believe that DC will reform itself.

Lines are being drawn, it’s the DC apparatchiks and their propagandists in the press versus the American taxpayer.

Right now the marxists have the upper hand, but payback is right around the bend, and it will be swift brutal and merciless

That would be nice if there weren't so many libs and crooks in this country.

If the majority of libs believe as one brother-in-law does, no one but a lawyer is smart enough to run our government.

Outstanding read, Washington sounds like the Detroit Bldg Dept and it's 7 inspectors now up on charges potentially going to da-bigga-house...

But something I posted in 2010 and I got no feedback on and I am flummoxed about, is why the Tea Party has not focused their ire on them, and that is K-Street.

IMHO they are the Pimps in this Bordello that is Disney on the Potomac, why we are not shinning the antiseptic called sunlight on these Vampires is beyond me...
