Buttercup Grill? Merritt Cafe?
Gentrification - the process of turning a crime ridden, garbage strewn, graffiti infested area into a place people might want to live.
No! You can beat the crap out of those new rich whities, you idiots! They don’t have weapons to defend themselves and they don’t want to hurt you anyway. They’ll just give you their money and credit cards, then just beat them up and walk away. A LOT better than robbing poor people!
I read a while back that Obama made a statement that too many neighborhoods in the US aren’t diverse, and that a government plan was needed to integrate them. This story sounds like some people are self integrating, without being forced to do it by the government. Much better, IMO.
Good grief, with people STOP thinking about skin color? People are going to9 move to where they can get housing cheap. A little hard work and some money for materials and you have a really nice place. The people who live there now can do the same thing.
I worked In West Oakland about 40 Years ago,,,,
Ive never missed it.
The really tragic thing about all this is that the dirtbags sellouts in those neighborhoods take their cash and their behavior to good neighborhoods and ruin them.
We had a huge influx of Detroit, Chicago and New York dirtbags move to our area south of Atlanta. It is a wreck.
Blks make up 11% of population, commit 50% of the crime, fill our courts & prison system. More Whites on welfare than Blacks; poverty is not the only culprit. Things have to change if we are to survive as one Nation.
Same exact thing been going on in So. Central LA...
It's prime real estate...With year round Mediterranean weather...Ya just knew this would happen eventually.
In fact, the black population started leaving en mass from CA about 20 or so years ago....They took the midnight train to Georgia, Texas, places like Ohio, PA, Chicago...Etc etc...
This is likely the reason crime in LA started nose diving a couple decades ago.
Section 8 as in mentally unstable? Or is this something different?
Section 8 housing is subsidized rent for low income people. The rent they pay out of pocket is limited to a percentage of their income, with the federal government paying the rest of the rent to the landlord.
Unfortunately, Section 8 tenants tend to be lower class trashy people, who mess up the place. You might have just a few buildings in a neighborhood with these ghetto type people, who then cause the entire neighborhood to go ghetto.
Apparently!!
Thanks. I think of Corporal Klinger when I hear Section 8.
