The fire hit all of Copersucar's warehouses at the Santos port, igniting 180,000 tonnes of sugar - roughly 10 percent of Brazil's monthly sugar exports - and driving prices of the sweetener to a one-year high on global markets.

Now they can export ready made caramel. Just need some nugget to poor it over.

By the way, where can I buy some nugget. I don’t want the caramel and chocolate covered nugget. I just want plain nugget.

My wife bought it last week and the inadvertently bought it again.

We now have a considerable stored surplus.

If it goes high enough we might even be rich!!

Sugar when burned leaves carbon deposit. that carbon deposit under pressure makes diamonds.

at the bottom of all the black one might find diamonds.

The sugar market is nuts. And the US is very protectionist of its sugar industry. So much so that the big food processing companies, a few years ago, when there looked like there might be a domestic shortage, sent a letter begging the government to allow more imports.

The trouble was, that so many countries produce so much sugar, that they would sell it for almost nothing just to penetrate the US market, even briefly. It was just loopy.
