Bridges for field mice, a disastrously over-budget philharmonic hall and a cycle path that stops in the middle of nowherea list published on Thursday reveals the bizarre ways in which the government has wasted German taxpayers money.
The so-called Black Book, compiled by the German Taxpayers Alliance, lists the many and diverse ways where the state has spent billions of euros of public finances through poorly planned, questionable and absurd projects. The bodys head, Rainer Holznagel said: Germany is richer than ever before. But far too much of our hard-earned money is not being spent efficiently.
Most expensive of all are the large construction projects which go wrong. Costs of the Elbe Philharmonic Hall in Hamburg have risen from 77 million to 800 million. Berlins new airport, meanwhile, is costing 162,000 a month just to keep clean, while its opening is continuously delayed and costs of the 3-billion project are ever increasing. An operating theater in Düsseldorfs university hospital cost 200 million, but three years on it has still not been used due to inadequate fire safety precautions.

Sounds like the USA.
Yep, sounds like a certain web site that doesn’t work that billions more will be spent on to try and make it actually work.
Oh, you cannot begin to imagine.
Yep sure does. Looks like the Zombie Politicians of the United States are now trying to take over Germany.
It’s the other way around, really. Consider where the social market economy originated.
like propping up the EU.
They could merge some of them. A bicycle path for field mice, with bridges, for example.
The Black Book?

Besides, the EU is a project that many of their elite politicians have declared themselves to be passionate about.
And this thread is about their domestic waste.
Hmmm...is a German tea party in the offing?
Sounds like a plan to destabilize doesn’t it?
Well, at least it keeps them out of France......for awhile.
We should bail them out./s
Pikers. The Big Dig would have wiped out their entire economy.
They are trying to emulate America’s President Utopia.
“Bridges for Field Mice” might be a good name for a classical techno-punk band
Maybe they could build a few empty cities
