Oct 17 (Reuters) - Community organizations and non-profit groups that were supposed to help millions of Americans sign up for "Obamacare" are trying to manage mounting frustration with a federal website hobbled by technical problems.

Dozens of these groups, known as "navigators," received federal grants to guide consumers through the government's Healthcare.gov website serving 36 states, which is meant to help the uninsured determine their eligibility for tax credits toward buying private coverage under President Barack Obama's healthcare reform law, known as Obamacare.

The site is allowing only a trickle of users to advance through the enrollment process since its launch on Oct. 1.

Santa’s “helpers”. In Barry’s U.S., every day is Christmas. “Free” stuff for everybody! If you’re a good little boy and/or girl, Barry will let you visit HIS National Parks and war memorials.

Some Dems are even talking about it. They will never get it..

“There is a considerable amount of time being spent on the education piece, just explaining things like deductibles and premiums. Before you ever get to a point of examining plans, those kinds of conversations are really necessary,” said Jodi Ray, project director for Florida’s largest navigator, housed in the University of South Florida.

And I’m sure a lot of smelling salts are being used once those enrollees actually LEARN what a premium and a deductible actually IS. What...you mean I have to PAY?? Hoo boy.

If experienced s/w engineers can’t figure it out, this bunch of arm twisting thugs don’t have a chance.
Too bad I have to pay them to say “Duh?” with my taxes.

my sister lives in public housing. I’ve met tons of people who haven’t paid for a thing in their life.
actually, john Edwards was right, but not in the way he meant. there are two Americas, people who work and freeloaders.

It’s like driving through a hail storm on your way to Cleveland signing up for Obama Care.

German soldiers at certain train stations were just ‘navigators’ too.

Hard to believe this is the same country that safely sent men to the moon and back with calculations made on slide rules and control systems running on electric relays instead of integrated circuits.

Oh - wait!

It’s not the same country, is it?

Nowhere near the same.

Unless the navigators are getting paid on a per-enrollee basis (like with bogus voter registrations), they get their money whether the website is up or not.

So I doubt they're that frustrated.

Trouble is that the SW engineers know EXACTLY what happened - because they DELIBERATELY designed the system this way.

Instead of making a simple order processing system [like Amazon's], where you shop first at mirror sites [giving generic info], THEN you checkout [giving personal info] - they make you give the personal info upfront. This is what causes the bottleneck.

They DID NOT want the American Public to see the ACTUAL costs of the plans BEFORE they got your personal info ...

Navigators = ACORN. Overweight, low information, urban, union feeders.

The sick little secret is that “navigators” and those who process (type in) paper applications end up using the same oBummerKare servers that are failing for the web sites. There’s no magic workaround.

Millions and millions now have insurance. Millions and millions more will have insurance soon. And they’ll all have affordable quality care. And everyone else’s premiums will go down. This is true because obama and his press say it’s true.

But I’ll tell you something that’s not true. There is no evidence that obama care is costing jobs. There’s no evidence because obama and his press say there’s no evidence.

If you’ve lost your job or your premiums have gone up, you’re an anomoly.

You people get with the program! /s
