The Right's Response to Immigration Reform
10/16/13 | vrwcarea51

Posted on 10/16/2013 1:31:16 PM PDT by VRWCarea51

If the Republicans can muster enough intestinal fortitude to fight Immigration Reform that Nero is going to run with here are my suggestions in dealing with it. Use the President's own retoric against him.

The first Presser should be today or Tomorrow with the following comments:

We will not negotiate with Terrorists, we will not allow guns to held against our heads or be held hostage to pass anything containing Amnesty.

The President Doesn't get to decide what Laws he follows and what ones he directs LEO to ignore.

We will not bring up ANY legislation involving Immigration until the ALL the current Immigration and border Security Laws are faithfully executed by the President and any/all Federal LEOs.

The Fence will be completed, Border Patrol WILL apprehend, detain and remove ALL Illegals they come in contact with. Any state that decides to overlook Immigration Laws should be held accountable with cuts to their Federal Funding.

Mr. President, that is the LAW of the land. Your job as the Chief Law Enforcement offical in this country is to see to it that they are Enforced.

Only when that is done will we talk about Immigration.

no talk

no bills

just block everything immigration related

it's a trap to merge anything with the Senate's Amnesty bill

call them

“can we actually start a campaign to call and email congress to not pass Amnesty?”

I don’t know, but I’ve already repeatedly called and emailed my congressman on this issue. I have also emailed the House GOP leadership. I would hope that there would be an organized effort from the Tea Party, Freedomworks, Heritage, and it would be nice if Ted Cruz would get on board the effort (which I expect he will).

You folks need to realize that immigration reform is going to happen. The Republicans want to rid themselves of folks like us and they think that passing immigration is the beginning of that process. The only solution is to primary anyone who supports this bill and replace them with a constitutional conservative.

You are so correct and the proof is the way the Gelding Old Party is attacking conservatives - the RINO GOP want conservative relegated to the dust bin just as badly as the RAT party does - why do you think they "MADE A DEAL" on slowdown and the Debt Ceiling? We have 1-1/2 parties right now - RAT and RAT Lite. (of if you like RAT-Like)

I called Goodlattes office several times and pretended to be a constituent and demanded to know what was going on and the staff person just played dumb. I called McCarthys office and the staff member told me that the congressman definitely believed in enforcement and would not support amnesty(we’ll see) Ryans office also played dumb. I could not get to Cantors office. Call them all up you can get their phone numbers off of the internet. Tell them you are a constituent and demand to know what is going on. I tell them I am from a town in their district and that I am calling them from where I really work as I am on contract in that city.

You make too much sense for the run of the mill Boehner Republicans. Only the Tea Party guys and gals can take the fight to the enemy.

I do not consider Boehner’s strategy of firing over the enemies heads, saying we “fought the good fight”, and retreating or surrendering.

That’s the French Vichy way, not the American way or has he forgotten?

Forget it, amnesty will pass. It is payback time. Do everything you can to starve the beast and throw all incumbents out. It won't be long and the Hispanics and blacks will be killing each other over free stuff.

Rand Paul’s immigration speech
03.19.13 | Hon Sen Rand Paul (KY)

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

[but he’s not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]

The Tea Party’s biggest victory to date: pushing an Amnesty bill through the Senate.

Steve King, Lamar Smith and Lou Gohmert need to kill any enforcement or STEM bill in committee.

Challenge Labrador, Gowdy and Goodlatte to pass Pelosi’s amnesty bill.

I think Steve King alluded to this on WND.

The former chairman and vice chairman of the House Judiciary are opposed to any of this. Goodlatte and Gowdy are also easy to ruffle their feathers. Goodlatte was worried even the NRO thought he was a wimp. Gowdy got butthurt when King asked him to come up with a plan longer than a decade.
