“The French could take lessons on how to surrender from the GOP.”

We knew this was over before it even started.
Anyone who didn’t know that, hasn’t been paying attention to what the media has been doing for the last 12 years.

IS THIS ENOUGH OF A WAKE-UP CALL, yet?

So curious that you would think that I'm advocating some kind of surrender, when in fact I'm advocating exactly the opposite - going nuclear.

Do you really think that somehow things will go better in early 2014?

But if you prefer your silver linings, don't let me get in the way of your enjoyment. Sure, retreat now. Fight another day.

That's such an easy refrain, and I sure have heard alot of it.

IMO, this puts the spotlight glaringly on healthcare.gov and Obamacare in general. Come January, if people still cannot register for Obamacare reliably and more information about rate hikes, healthcare workers being fired, the insurance exchange death spiral has begun, etc, we may actually have more leverage to flush this turd.

Obama said something the other day that on the surface appears completely delusional and narcissistic (as is typical), but put it together with the reasonable suspicion that the exchange rollout was designed to fail, and... let's just say that there's no ceiling on the obama admin's craft, deceit, and evil.

"My suspicion is what is going to happen is when it's working and everybody is really happy with it, Republicans are going to stop calling it 'Obamacare,'" the president said Tuesday in an interview with New York's WABC TV station.

Obama: Critics will stop calling it ‘Obamacare’ if it works

This is a manipulator who "won" despite the dud/dead campaign rallies, the altered-state zone-out in the debates, and four years of outright lies including the producing of a brazenly fraudulent BC.

Now I sure don't believe that the Obamanationcare will ever "work", unless of course "work" is defined as a grand Gotcha! that is designed to engulf and enslave the American People, leaving only a small remnant.

The "Health Insurance Marketplace" is so dysfunctional, that at whatever point it appears to spit out rate comparisons and policies, it will seem as if "It's a Miracle!" (Never mind that these policies won't translate into actual health care... but for a time a game can be rigged.)

Is is possible to be too cynical WRT the malevolence of these folks? I don't think so.

Why elect Republicans?

It's an excellent question, and my answer may not be satisfactory to everyone, and I understand that, but there is a reason. Think of it in terms of Ho-Hos. You may recall how Hostess recently went out of business, and was then revived by new ownership. Their signature products are already back on the shelf and selling well.

OK, now imagine we closed Hostess and dumped everything about it, the brand, the infrastructure, the employee base, everything, and just started totally and absolutely from scratch, call the product, I don't know, SR's Chocolate and Cream Rolles, or something. Whatever. How long would it take to ramp up that totally new and unknown product to anywhere close to the same sales volume as the original Ho-Ho? Anywhere from a long time to never.

My point is, we need a big, sophisticated infrastructure and an established (if damaged) brand to be even remotely competitive in the short term. I tried getting a Constitution Party branch going in my neck of the woods. All I got was a handful of regulars and everybody else refusing to participate based on the fear we would just be diluting the Republican presence, thereby strengthening the liberals/leftists. There are many other barriers, with ballot access issues high on the list.

So actually getting a third party to work is going to be nearly impossible. If we really want to win, we must win by pushing the R party back to its platform via a massive grassroots infestation of the local party apparatus, combined with fresh and electrifying national leadership pulling us toward conservatism from the top. And primary all RINO’s, contra Ann Coulter’s advice. I see no other way forward, apart from divine intervention.

I’m not sure if you chose to miss my point or not, so let me re-iterate it.

You’re complaining about the actions of Senators Cruz and Lee, as if there was something more they could have done and they have let us down as a result.

This, after they have taken unmitigated hell from both the Left and the Collaborators in our party for sometime now for resolutely standing for what is right, the defunding of Obamacare.

You are whining here, instead of staying the course.

Senators Cruz and Lee have done immeasurable good by flushing out the turds in our party and showing them for what they are and energizing the Tea-Party once again by showing us that there are some Senators and Congressmen who will fight for us.

Complaining about something as small as this action on their part right now, after the Gargantuan effort they just put in smells, badly.

Only those getting something for free from Obamacare.

Everyone else will be screaming as it will hit their bottom line, their pocket-book, and the quality of their health care.

dfwgator is right, it is just a matter of time and this is going to land with full-force on the heads of the Democrats and the Collaborators in the GOP who did not fight against it.

The Tea-Party has been setup to make some major gains in 2014 and 2016.

The point is that electing Republicans to the both Houses and the presidency ended up with the same result: the growth of the federal government because few if any would take a stand when it came to defunding the beast.

Nope, they fought for what is right.

I dare say you would have been a nay-sayer during the Revolution of 1776 as our side lost battle after battle, but in the end won the war.

They resolutely stuck to their principles in spite of facing the world's super-power and losing many battles.

They fought for what is right, in the face of overwhelming odds.

If Cruz can delay a vote only for 30 hours or whatever, then he must put reputation aside and do it. Maybe...just maybe...in 30 hours things will change. A delay can only help us. It can't hurt us.

The Senate, including Ted Cruz, has acquiesced in an internal coup. There's no way to sugar coat it. 0bama is now a tyrant and a dictator. The only way to challenge him directly is to force him to violate his constitutional oath to guarantee the full faith and credit of the US and default. He can then be impeached.

He is NEVER going to be impeached.

Wake up from the dream.

Well, yes, sort of. But we are not an exact replica of all nations that have gone before us, and eventually even the most brainwashed among us will find the cognitive dissonance to be quite loud and annoying. People will look at their own situation and realize it doesn't match the propaganda. For some this will mean a deepening psychosis, for others, liberation. Collectivist tyrannies must always ultimately fail because reality doesn't lie. You really can't stop the signal.

Defunding was never an option. Heritage even said so. The real way to do this is by winning elections.

And how are you going to do that Karl Rove, if you don't stand up and fight against those things that are wrong?

The GOP will not win the majority of elections necessary to keep control of the House or take over the Senate or win the Presidency unless they keep to the conservative message and are vocal in their fight against everything that attacks our freedoms, liberties, and constitutional governance.

The current GOP-E leadership don't care about these things, but only care about keeping their head down, and keeping their positions/seats.

They've already proven they really did not want to defund Obamacare, they are actively, or secretly, plotting to pass Amnesty, they've caved on the Gay Agenda.

They no long represent us and cannot be trusted to fight for us.

they're only able to get away with it because over 150 million of us have the capacity of a 5 year old. No offense to 5 year olds.

Sadly true. I work with many people who are quite intelligent, but woefully uninformed. It is a direct result of the news sources they consult. I often tell them things that are basic knowledge here on FR and see their faces freeze ever so slightly, a telltale indication that they did not know what I've told them. The media doesn't have to lie (though they do); their best deceptive skill is omission. I work with people who think Sarah Palin said 'this stupid thing' and Michelle Bachmann said 'that stupid thing' but when I tell them that Sheila Jackson-Lee thought the Mars Pathfinder drove over to where Neil Armstrong left the American flag, they say 'Who is Sheila Jackson-Lee'? Selective 'reporting'.

Most of that I agree with.

However, we cannot go to war with some of the Collaborators we have on our side.

It is imperative that we remove as many of those unwilling to fight for principle and who tell us one thing and then surrender, that we can.

Otherwise, we just keep repeating the same defeatist scenario time after time.

We need to remove as many of the politicians on our side that care more about their campaign cash than us that we can.

That's your interpretation of this battle and I doubt history will show that it is an accurate interpretation.

Obama's agenda was completely stalled during this time period and in the process, Senator's Cruz and Lee, and other patriots like Governor Palin and others have injected new vigor into the base and lit a fire under a lot of people's butts in the process heading into the 2014 elections.

This was necessary, we need to see leadership, our so-called leadership in the GOP right now, the elected leadership, is full of cowards and men/women who are more go-along to get-along and concerned more about their campaign cash then about leading.

We need new leadership, we are not going to win with the likes of McCain, Romney, McConnell, Boehner, Pete King et all.

They don't want to win apparently, but just want to retain their seats.

In the meantime, instead of cutting the men/women off at the knees who dare to lead on conservative principles by tucking tail, or bad-mouthing them, we need to come together, stand firm, and support them.

THIS type of intra-party squabbling amongst conservatives causes damage to our message and the leaders who dare step out onto the firing line.
