Voters don't have an attention span long enough. They pretty much vote based on what happens during the 2 weeks prior to an election.

I'm pretty sure all politicians are well aware of this fact, so this shutdown has nothing to do with 2014 midterms. This is about a few honest folks in Congress trying to do the right thing for the people vs the rest who just want to kiss up to Obama.

Obama is simply too arrogant/lazy/stupid to deal with fixing anything that has anything to do with the economy. He doesn't want to be bothered with trivial things like budgets.

The shutdown will eventually end. And the voters will be exposed to the massive failings of HealthCare.gov. Which isn't going to be fixed between now and the March deadline for registering.

But the shutdown needs to end soon so the GOP can regroup and draw focus on HealthCare.gov during the upcoming social and family gathering holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Xmas and New Years).
