>> Under educate a population, give them a sense of time to get even, and put them in uniform and what do you expect?

not just ANY population, either. A population of minorities with a chip on each of their shoulders.

The last time I went through TSA at LAX, it dawned on me that the motley group of screeners were, as a team, extracting government-sanctioned revenge on this innocent white heterosexual boy for slavery, the Mexican-American War, the Boxer rebellion, and the Matthew Shepard & Harvey Milk murders... all at the same time.

I hate flying any more.

i used to drive everywhere too... did not like to fly... however, i do not have the free time to go from East Coast to West Coast... so i am very grateful that my experiences have been good thus far... i have lost one belt that i forgot to pick up from the conveyor belt... i had forgotten to remove it before starting for the x-ray... so it went into a separate bin... i also forgot my wallet at the curbside check-in counter a couple of weeks ago... i was running late... the guy at the counter called the gate for me to tell them i was on my way... in my hurry, i left the wallet... as i was going through security, he ran up to me and handed it to me!!!!! whew!

I go fishing to Mexico twice a year with a friend that wears a long leg knee brace after contracting polio from the polio vaccine in the early 60’s. We travel through SkyHarbor most of the time and even though he wears shorts and his solid brace is almost fully exposed AND he has a pitifully atrophied calf and thigh muscle on the leg, they ALWAYS make him take the brace off. He used to get really PO’d but now he just stays in line, does not let them hurry him and jams up the line as much as he can with a big smile on his face.

One of the yet growing list of reasons I don’t fly anymore.

I, too, decided 13 years ago that the airlines had received their last cent from me. I still wonder, though, why Americans accept this treatment just so they have the privilege of sitting in cramped quarters for which they pay high prices. There are other ways of getting from point A to point B.

I guess some folks don't dare much for their dignity.

I haven’t flown since May and intend to never fly again. If I can’t get there by car, I’m not going. They’d have a field day with me b/c I’m elderly and have to wear a medical device.

I had no problem flying until they moved the Gestapo into the airport. Now I do not go anywhere I cannot drive. I cancelled a trip to Vegas I has planned for 2003 as neither my wife or I, want to go through the hassle at the airports.

Now it is 11 years later, and it is far worse than when I quit flying. I don’t see how anyone can force themselves to go through the $hit that is the flying experience today.
