States across the country are being told to stop the supplemental nutrition assistance program for the month of November, pending further notice.
Thatís according to a letter from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Fox 13 obtained a copy from the Crossroads Urban Center in downtown Salt Lake City. Crossroads says if Utah families donít get food stamps, theyíll turn to the local food pantries, which are already strapped due to the government shutdown. Homeless people Fox 13 talked to, some who use SNAP, say losing food stamps would mean going hungry.

This will be blamed on Evil White Racist Tea Party Republicans.
I feel like it's Berlin, 1933, and my name is Goldstein.
Prepare for chaos beginning in November.
Last Saturday’s “EBT glitch” was probably just a test and a warning shot to the GOP.
Stop sending American jobs to communist Chinese citizens.
For crying out loud.
We are backrupting America.
Bring back US jobs. Now.
And the bitching thing is that many “conservatives” piss themselves and parrot the same BS. Then they wonder why the GOPe is tanking in the polls.
Hmm now I wonder why he would choose Utah over a state like say Michigan or Illinois.../s
This is going to backfire badly on The One especially since he lives like a king (actually greater than any king ever has lived)
The timing did seem awfully strange.
Florida ends 10/31...
In Utah, if a family is in need, another family will help them.
I don’t find it unusual that a Utah reporter (LDS?) wrote it. The same USDA memo has probably gone out to all 50 states, but the Utah reporter “blew the cover.” You are right, the LDS will step up. Probably nowhere else will the EBT cutoff be as contained.
It’s all of the states. It was only reported first in Utah.
Stock up on ammo and foodstuffs. I've got enough to live lean for a short period. I don't have enough house to store large food stores, so I'm praying it doesn't last more than a few months. Thankfully the Florida winters are relatively mild, and there's plenty of good hunting in my neck of the woods if food gets scarce.
Notice of course they pick the one month with the all-American holiday of Thanksgiving.
There are going to be runs on grocery stores soon, if they keep this up.
They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power.
Sounds about right. If they are feeling froggy, let 'em jump. It won't be easy, but it may very well be the only way to restore the Republic.
revolution race riot is just three missed meals denied EBT purchases away.
Once this social avalanche cuts loose, there may be no arresting it.
Alas, Brave New Babylon

On the other hand, when they go zombie and tear cities apart, the Republican base and some independents are going to be more energized to cut them off.
If only they were smart enough to blame THEIR Prez-dant
Seems I remember these LDS families buying in bulk for their large families, usually at Sam’s and BJ’s, 50 lb bags of rice and pallets of food with their food stamps. They have long been ‘bleeding the beast’, with their multiple wives and kids.
A good start. Make the fathers ante up.
