October 14, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Viewers all over the globe appreciate the beauty of Miss World, Megan Lynn Young, but the reigning Miss Philippines recently told an interviewer that she appreciates the beauty of the unborn.

In August, Young told a Philippines-based broadcaster that she opposes abortion-on-demand, believes in abstinence before marriage, and sees marriage as a lifelong and unbreakable union.

“I'm against abortion,” Young told her interviewer flatly.

Most Philippine people are traditional, conservative and Catholic. They struggle with messy government and poverty which leads many of them to come to the US or the Middle East. These immigrants are among the reasons I implore Freepers and conservatives in general befriend and inform Asian immigrants about freedom and the Constitution—what they mean and how they created the opportunity these immigrants seek for themselves and their children.

Philipinos are very religious people. We have a lot of Philipino families in our church.

...this shows her beauty but is not as immodest as some...

Thank you very much for showing that recognizing beauty need not be a softer form of smut. Hugh Hefner and Larry Flynt are not Conservative and what they did to America's values is despicable.

Isn’t it sad that her statement is worthy of a headline?

It should be assumed without saying that unborn life is beautiful and should be cherished and never should be murdered.

Do you know the difference between, admiring someone's beauty, sexual attraction, and lust?

Thanks for the link. Here's another on the subject of lust from the Way of the Master series. Another resource comes from a church of Christ congregation: How do we distinguish between attraction and lust?. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a member of very Conservative (both politically and theologically) church of Christ congregation here in Texas.

I appreciate your kind response since it's always beneficial to engage with a fellow FReeper on any subject since the brightest minds in God's World are found right here.

I’m glad you took that well.

I can’t see the first link, youtube is blocked from here. But the second link seems to be on the same page as the one I posted, basically defining lust as desiring to satisfy the God given attraction through a forbidden means.

I hope that you'll be able to take a look at it from another location. That said, there are those not especially enamored of Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron's "Way of the Master" approach. Still I think you'll find it of value since the running length of the clip is under 10 minutes.

Anyway, may God continue to Bless you and thanks again for the thought-provoking discussion!

Even here on Free Republic, adulterous behavior is often dismissed as just another little mishap. No! It's among the Ten items enumerated that Almighty Lord strictly prohibits. And in the tiresome "guilty/not guilty" threads, the Word as revealed in Matthew 5:28 ought to be taken just as seriously:

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Miss Young is American by birth, Phillipina by residence unless she took out citizenship there.

She was born in Alexandria, Virginia where she lived until she was 10.

Regardless, good for her for her stand!

I imagine living in the Philippines had some influence on her life, but then her parents probably had the greatest influence on her...

And from Mr. Peabody's wayback machine, there's this thread from over six years ago: Am I the Only One who is sick and tired of "I'd Hit It"? posted by CharlesWayneCT and drawing over 2,000 replies. The comments clearly show that there's diversity (and I mean that in a good way) of opinion here on Free Republic.

And to show that I'm not entirely devoid of humor, here's a picture guaranteed to cancel out any sort of lust in one's heart or anywhere else for that matter. :)

Note that forum decorum prevents me from posting the equally famous image of Chelsea (Mezvinsky) Clinton exiting a swimming pool in what might be otherwise be called alluring scanty attire.

Oh, I remember that thread well, though I can’t honestly recall whether I posted on it (and I’m not about to search 2,300 replies to find out). I’m trying to be a better person than I was six years ago so I don’t dip in the memory hole too often.

You weren't a participant on that thread. My contact over at the NSA handled all the research for me. But, at least I now have your PIN number for the ATM! :)
