Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has called President Obama a “pathetic leader” for his lack of involvement in negotiations to end the government shutdown. He slammed the president’s unwillingness to compromise with Republicans as “immature.”
Today on America’s News HQ, Graham told anchor Doug McKelway, “For [Republicans] to suggest to the American people that we could defund ObamaCare or delay it for a year by shutting down the government, I think was unrealistic.”
With the debt limit just four days away, Sen. Graham said, “I’m not going to vote for any deal coming out of the Senate that doesn’t have a reasonable chance of getting a majority of House Republicans understanding that defunding and delaying ObamaCare is a bridge too far.”

This is per James Madison's Federalist 58 - the constitution gives the power of the purse to the people's representatives in the House for the specific purpose of reining in a runaway chief executive and senate. It' our constitutional check and balance on unconstitutional expansionist government.

If the Republicans were as stalwart as the Dems, it would be the Dems who had to say “there was no reasonable chance of funding Obamacare.” It’s a staring contest and our side likes to blink when they’re not crying their eyes out.

Just based on how the Obamacare exchange rollout is going, I’d say Obamacare has an excellent chance of stopping itself, without any assistance from Republicans. Combine gross gov’t incompetence with a defiance of personal economic behavior, and you have, to quote Democrat Sen. Max Baucus, a “train wreck”.
