GOP can’t stand winning.... They are trying to reset things so Obama,Reid and Pelosi can take the high ground...

They should be on every channel itemizing the bills they have passed and Reid & Co. are sitting on... But no, that might make Dingy Harry’s feelings get hurt...

Sure sounds like what we did in Vietnam and Korea

Boehner and Ryan must have decided to retire.

Obama, Reid and Pelosi weren’t even asking to go above sequester.

At this point it would have made more sense to sign the original clean CResolution, let Obamacare’s debacle be the news and run against this and pick up seats.

People love a shutdown because it seems like you are doing something, but when this is the end result, it shows it was the wrong strategy. We were ALWAYS going to wind up here, and what we will get is WORSE than what would have happened to kick the can down the road.

I would have just kept passing CRs all the way to election day 2014 and run on the debt and obamacare.

Obamacare can be changed by running against it going forward.

You mean the tree that fell in the forest and no one heard?

A frequent Sean Hannity talking point is the Sequester was "nothing." It was definitely something to the one US institution that has bleed, sacrficed, and given more to this nation than any other - the military.

Entitlement checks collected by the most obese nation on the planet (America) were exempt from one dime of Sequester cuts, but the US military was cut by 9% and domestic agencies by only 5%. Worse, because they enacted the cuts in the middle of the fiscal year, the US military endured a 13% real cut in funding, while still absorbing a previous cut over ten years of $487 Billion enacted (and agreed to by the Republicans) in 2011.

The military is 17% of the entire budget, but is forced to "pay for" 50% of all Sequestration cuts.

Gee, that's "fair" right?

Our debt and deficit problems are caused by runaway entitlement spending, with Medicare the worst offender.

The sequester did NOTHING to address the exponential entitlement growth that is breaking our back as a nation.

Those who repeat again and again the Sequestration "was nothing" ar either ignorant of the facts, or choose to ignore them.

so what did we get in 4+ years from the republicans?

Well, they blocked gun control, refused cap and trade and like it or not the sequester slowed the growth in Gov't for the first time in decades. The House also kept the Bush tax cuts intact for 99% of us.

Sure I'd like a lot more but do you really think with only 1/3 of Gov't and a commie Senate and WH it can happen?

“Republicans are also aiming to replace steep sequester spending cuts with savings in other areas”

Yeh they are going increase Medicare costs for better off seniors. So basically a total cave in and raise fees on America. Unbelievable!!
