Cruz slams immigration hecklers: ‘They don’t want the truth to be heard’
Washington Times ^ | Friday, October 11, 2013 | Seth McLaughlin

Illegal immigrant advocates interrupted Sen. Ted Cruz’s speech to the Values Voters Summit on Friday more than a dozen times on, calling on the Texas Republican and potential presidential candidate to support a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

But the Texas Republican repeatedly deflected the criticism, turning it into an attack against President Obama.

“How scared is the president?” Mr. Cruz said. “Oh, they don’t want the truth to be heard. They definitely don’t want the truth to be heard.”

The crowd also tried to drown out the protestors with chants of “USA! USA!”

The protesters were dragged out by security guards.

Mr. Cruz opposed the immigration reform bill that GOP Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida helped to steer through the Democratic-controlled Senate, where it passed on a 68-32 vote, garnering the support of 14 Republicans.

The GOP-controlled House has not taken up the bill, which would grant quick legal status and work permits to most illegal immigrants. But it would withhold a full path to citizenship until a number of border security benchmarks are met.

“The message we were trying to get to the Republican Party was that if they want to get Latino vote once again, they need to support immigration reform,” Salvador Cervantes, who refused to give his group’s name. “An immigration reform bill that gives legal status to people who are living without documents — good people.”

Carolina Canizales, 23, a member of United We Dream, said she came to the country undocumented and that Mr. Cruz has refused to listen to advocates of immigration reform.

“There is one reality that we are always having: There are 1,400 people being deported every day,” Ms. Canizales said. “Sen. Cruz is a Latino and should champion our population of Latinos.”

If Obama ran for president in 2004 he would have got 65% of the Latino vote because they love celebrities.

Bush ran against Gore and Kerry. Clinton was going to gift the GOP by cutting immigration by a third but the RINO senators blocked the Jordan commission.

If Hilary runs in 2016 the GOP needs to focus on blocking WV and KY and winning IA and OH.

The hispanics and western liberal whites are clustered in the west the GOP’s future electoral college is in the rust belt working its way up to 70% of the white vote.

There was never 10 million latinos in the western Sunbelt before Ted Kennedy passed his immigration bill.

The southwest only became populated and livable with tens of millions of people when Americans settled there.

Obama believes Arizona territory had enough Latinos to produce 2 million grandchildren today.

We know how Obama operates. He likely went to some of the Latino activist groups and promised them favors (probably citizenship to their illegal family mmbers) if they would organize groups to heckle Cruz and get under his skin. Why dont we get a bunch of black Republican activists to ask 0 what he’s done for them, lately and put the shoe on the other foot. He likes to play games with people’s heads worse than a blonde teenage cheerleader.

Ted Kennedy was an idiot who is likely burning in hell, but even California belonged to Spain a couple hundred years ago, as did Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Most of those people came here to get away from the Spanish government, same as people came from the British Isles, France, etc to get away from those governments.

“The southwest only became populated and livable with tens of millions of people when Americans settled there.”

Texas has been been part of the USA since about 1845-from 1836 until then, it was a country called the Republic of Texas. Arizona and New Mexico became states in that same era, but they were territories. Since there were enough Hispanic/Latino families in those places-along with later-come immigrants from Germany, Prussia, Poland, and other places, to have a pretty thriving economy, what Americans are you referring to?

The original ranch-actually three, now-is still worked and lived on by my family members-I spent much of my childhood there, unless my dad was stationed overseas, and it is happily miles from any city-not all of us want to live in a hive...

Country people like me, and preppers don’t have any love of big cities-they won’t be sustainable for long, if the s*** ever hits the fan, because there is no farming or animal husbandry going on there to provide food for those millions-there isn’t even any game to hunt.

Obama has no more practical knowledge of geography or history than he does anything else-remember “57 states”? Does he also believe the moon is made of green cheese?

Your screen name/handle is sadly true-and he hates coal from every other place as well...

[Art.] The GOP-controlled House has not taken up the bill, which would grant quick legal status and work permits to most illegal immigrants. But it would withhold a full path to citizenship until a number of border security benchmarks are met.

Or until the Democrats are ready to accept ownership of the United States Government for the next 200 years.

Their first item of business will be to set up a negotiation with LaRaza and MALDEF representatives, a schedule for the expulsion of cracker gringos from the Western United States. And especially Texas.

Note: New Obama-Regime U.S. stamp has appeared w/ picture of an obscure Mexican songstress superimposed on a Texas flag. Symbolism 101, anyone? Anyone?

I have a question..how the hell are these hecklers even allowed in..I saw the video of the heckling, I could tell within 5 seconds that the ones doing the heckling were liberal plants..its not that hard to spot a liberal..just talk to one for a few minutes and even if they are trying to hide it, you can always point out a liberal

Great question! Apparently they don’t screen who they allow to enter like Obummer and the Dims do.

They should be screened..I could tell those liberals right away, took me 2 seconds to decipher them..if I could do it, those people who are at the door should know, doesn’t take a genius, just look for the ones who look really really angry and have no life, those are the ones to look out for

Of course. You never watched Fantasy Island? I always respected Montalban’s acting in movies and TV, except for the later “Khan” role which I thought was way overacted, which was probably his intent because it made the character more interesting. Sort of how Obama overacts his role pretending to be president, but I digress.

“Ms. Canizales said. “Sen. Cruz is a Latino and should champion our population of Latinos.””

Unlike Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz’ first loyalty is to America and the rule of law, not his race.

Why? Spaniards got here in the 1500s. The USA didn’t come along until 1776.

These protestors , so called, were members of Obamas nationalist racial-etnic minority hit squad. Soon Obama will arm them with Mexican cartel weapons ( what fast and furious was all about..and he has other ways related to the Libya arsenal now). They protest today, Obama will make sure they will be shooting at us tommorrow.

Obama is a nationalist socialist, and he is more than willing to put the hurt on America to gain his sordid ends.

“Sen. Cruz is a Latino and should champion our population of Latinos.”

Racist.

**
And disgusting. What she means is Cruz should “champion” her race above ALL others with special privileges and considerations. This pig can go eat dirt.

We truly do NOT need these people in this country. Not a single one.

In Texas I seem to remember the term “wetback” was used a lot.
