So, the President offered an off ramp, in which he said I will accept any length of extension...
So, Boehner has his offer, he goes in to see the president, you would expect that he would then have a six-week extension and discuss all of these issues. What seems to have happened is there are now demands from the president...

Someone posted yesterday (I think)...
Negotiating 101: Trade promises for promises, and actions for actions. When you trade an action for a promise, you get screwed every time.

You know Obastard lies all the time. I know he lies all the time. Boehner et al know it too, but they have to go through the motions of demonstrating it because the people who vote and elect Democrats are the morons.
If the GOPe leadership treated Obastard the way he should be treated, the Dems would have a permanent majority in both houses of the Legislature, and would forever hold the Presidency. It sucks, but until we get a smarter electorate, it’s the way things have to be done. Despite what Boehner says, it *is* a damned game.

Obama did the same thing on the last debt debate two years ago. A big deal had been worked out, and then Obama said, “I need another $400 billion in taxes.” Or was it $800? Anyway, it blew the deal and was why Boehner said it was impossible to negotiate with Obama.

If they were following the Constitution, we wouldn’t BE in this ‘problem’. Those ‘mandatory spending’ programs would be null and void and the funny money/Fed would have never come to being (fiat/fractional lending being the open door to $17T+)

The problem was he had no leverage -- to declare war would have been a total disaster. If you have no leverage, you cannot negotiate with an intelligent person and appear anything but weak.
He bragged about because (a) he wanted to place Hitler's promises firmly on the record re casus belli(/i> for the next time, (b) he was a politician, and they invariably put on spin. However, he clearly wasn't taken in because aircraft and armaments production was vastly increased when he came back.

Obama doesnt want a solution, and he will make sure he doesnt get one. Thats how he plans to win and seize emergency power. Hannity and Newt Gingrich were talking on live radio a couple of hours ago, and they were agreeing that Harry Reid is even more extremely radical than Barky .... and that their real objective, never mind all the moving goal posts, is the total destruction and surrender of the GOP.
That would make us, literally, a People's Republic, with Bolsheviks and Mensheviks (and guys in a basement room with big rubber aprons and a pistol waiting to help you love Big Brother).
