“Vindictive” Park Service Inflicting Maximum Pain During Shutdown
Colorado Observer ^ | October 9, 2013 | Audrey Hudson

Posted on 10/10/2013 9:35:42 AM PDT by george76

Aggressive actions and double standards used by the National Park Service are vindictive and designed to inflict maximum inconvenience and fear among visitors, say Republican lawmakers whose efforts to reopen the parks are gridlocked by Senate Democrats.

World War II veterans were blocked by barricades and armed guards from paying tribute at their memorial last week.

However, the national mall where the memorial is located was opened Tuesday to allow hundreds of illegal immigrants to stage a protest demanding amnesty.

...

the administration has closed the Mall and memorials to some groups and not others, giving preferential treatment under the law. If it’s going to be open for some, it needs to be open for all,” Tipton said.

A bipartisan House majority voted last week 252 to 173 to restore funding to national parks and memorials, but the Senate has refused to consider this or a half-dozen other funding efforts by the House since the partial shutdown began last week.

“The Obama administration willfully disrespected our World War II veterans by barricading their memorial on the National Mall,” said Rep. Doug Lamborn, Colorado Republican.

“Now the administration is taking down the barricades and welcoming pro-immigration activists to the Mall,” Lamborn said. “This double standard is part of President Obama’s practice of using taxpayer dollars to pick winners and losers.”

With 17 percent of the government shut down because of a congressional stalemate over funding Obamacare, the Park Service has selectively targeted closures, whether it’s an entire park or a public road that passes through a national monument.

“We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can,” a Park Service ranger told The Washington Times. “It’s disgusting.”

Well my plans are to go to the World War II monument and say a pray for every American that gave the ultimate sacrifice. Gonna tell them that their deaths were not in vain. They did not die for this vile and corrupt US government that has drowned the country in debt, has given special treatment to illegal invaders and has ignored the US Constitution. Eventually this US government will pass and another will take its place. These brave and courage Americans gave their lives for their fellow citizens. Their fellow Americans. Not for crony politicians and not for illegally invading immigrants. They did not sacrifice and struggle for the US government. They sacrificed and struggled for the American people.

Don’t blame the Park Service, blame the Spite House, which is where this vindictiveness comes from. It’s the Chicago Way.

DISAGREE. Just following orders wasn't a valid defense for soldiers in wartime where the penalty for not following them could be death. Here if the brown shirt rangers don't follow orders they would get a reprimand or at worst lose their jobs. A JOB BTW that is paid for by the very taxpayers that they're turning away.

Park Rangers in their proper uniforms

So far as I know they have not been so pushed as to draw weapons. I have only been to a couple places on the BRP and have not had any run-ins...but they should be pushed until they do commit some act of violence such as pulling a weapon on a citizen.

While the hardcore bama ball supporter won’t say anything, there are a lot of other Americans who will. And the support will continue to drop. That’s how we win 2014 and hammer away in 2016.

Very Sam Adams-ey.

Fittingly, they are marching on the "rude bridge" (in Concord, Mass.).

The ones in Yellowstone Park at least seem to be relishing their assigned role of being nasty to the tourists.

I saw this on another forum. It would make a great tagline!

"Obama Used More Security Against Vet’s WWII Memorial Than He Had At Benghazi."

They are part of some community. One would think that some shunning and very public berating's by their neighbors, friends, family would be in order. Shame these a-hole turds into the ground. They are greatly outnumbered.

I agree. This is the best strategy.

The Fau King has declared No One can enter the Kings Forest, until we all accept subjection.

I believe it's spelled "faux", as in: "Houston, we have a Faux King problem."

Or it could be spelled "foe" in this case, which would also be correct.

I'm not defending the Park Service employees, but pointing out the greater evil that we should be focusing on.

As far as the Park service is concerned, we need to respond to them with MASS civil disobedience -- make it more unpleasant for them to buck us than to buck their evil 'superiors'.

“How I loathe this thuggish Administration and all its works.”

People are at a loss to know how to deal with this administration because there has never been one like it before. This is why people left the old world to come to America. This is why we fought a war against the British. No other President comes close to the tyrannical behavior of Obama and his band of gangsters and criminals.

I believe most of the democrats who voted for him realize how wrong and gullible they were but stupid pride won’t allow them to admit it. They will go down with the ship and take the rest of us with them before they do the right thing and help convict the whole lot of these misfits for high treason.

Necks need to be stretched!

Isn't there ONE decent Park Service employee that has come out and defied Hussein's "orders"?

There must be hundreds of them that do NOT like to be Obama's brownshirts.

Obama couldn't possibly have gotten them all.

And yes, this "just following orders" $hit had better be investigated the hell out of, and people's asses fired over it.

“Many middle level NPS brown shirts seem to enjoy their new Nazi style power.”

Indeed. I’m afraid the next order from King Barry will be “Shoot to Kill”.

So, a census worker is going door to door in an Asian neighborhood, verifying some information, and when one occupant answers the door he asks, “Are you Foo King?”
And the man answers, “No, we just watching television.”

The ones in Yellowstone Park at least seem to be relishing their assigned role of being nasty to the tourists.

People don't go into law enforcement because they

  1. Want to defend the constitution
  2. think that enforcing every law, regulation, executive order, and rule is silly
  3. Enjoy a live and let live philosophy
They feel like the tourists - the ones who are ultimately paying their salaries - are second class citizens (or serfs) because they aren't part of the government. Hence they're entitled to be as nasty to them as they want.

good people don't just follow orders, especially petty litte vindictive orders like these....

you call in sick, leave work early, act distracted, throw up all over your bosses shoes, spend too much time parking your car, look the other way....

Last weekend I did this (picture links to thread):

This weekend if I find the gate locked again, it will be this:

My retired father told me, "Don't get shot or hauled off to jail".

I told him, "Shelter in Place".
