As heard on Hugh Hewitt’s program yesterday in an interview with Charlie Dent (RINO-PA), it’s clear there are many members of the Republican caucus who think the best way to defund obamacare is to give in on the budget shutdown and debt ceiling, then defeat obamacare through persuasion ... That is, persuade the Democrat Socialists in Congress to support the Republican position. Dent really, truly believes this is the way to defeat obamacare — that this is better than standing firm (audio of the interview is at hughhewitt.com). People this naive — this dumb — shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a position of responsibility.

I'd take it a step further, they don't believe this, they know that it will fail, but they think it gives them cover with their base, that they really, really care and are really against it, but what else can they do, sniff, sniff.
They are craven cowards and craven liars, and I think many of them actually, in their hearts, believe that everyone should get Healthcare by law, even if it lowers the standard of care and makes it extremely costly for the producers.
They are socialists at heart and are fearful of their base and of losing campaign cash from big-business and other special interests.
