How about trying this one on for size? Here is the press release headline from Congressman Tim Huelskamps office this afternoon:
Obama Administration Denies Mass to Catholics
Apparently, a priest was denied access to a military chapel this weekend. Father Ray Leonard serves at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in Georgia but because of the government shutdown, he wasnt allowed to go to celebrate Mass this past weekend.
He is contracted by the Defense Department to meet the spiritual needs of Catholics, but not now. The chapel doors were locked and the sign said, Shutdown: No Catholic service till further notice.
Father Leonard said the following:
This is our church, Catholics have an expectation and obligation to attend Mass and we were told, No you cant go to church this week
My parishioners were upset. They were angry and dismayed. They couldnt believe that in America theyd be denied access to Mass by the government.
Time and time again this Administration demonstrates it is waging a war against the very religious freedoms upon which America was founded. This is exactly why we worked to pass legislation (House Concurrent Resolution 58) this past weekend to protect the religious liberties of all those who bravely serve in our Armed Forces.
Partly payback for calling for Pelosi to be denied communion?
The priest doesn’t need a church to say Mass and should have set up and said Mass in the parking lot. I’m waiting to hear whether any of the Catholic clergy really pushed back on this. I want someone arrested.
Did they take away all muslim prayer rugs too? or is that still allowed?
Is there mosques in the military?
But muzzies having “services” in their “houses of worship” is oky doky, right?
Wait a minute... I thought they said we have SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE.
Since WHEN does the government OWN religion and can lock the doors of a church???
If this doesn’t DEFINE Tyranny and the phrase “Anti-American”, I don’t know what does.
What did they expect from the Anti-Christ?
Wanna bet he voted for 0bama like so many Catholics who think that the government should take money from the productive and give it to the indolent.
Push back yes. But the priest can say mass only in consecrated space.
Communion he can give out but if its locked inside the building there’s not much he can do short of breaking in.
Further proof, if you need it, that Obama is NOT a Christian.
Actually he needed access to the Tabernacle to expose the Eucharist.
All these shutdowns effect masses of “whitey”. When will someone notice.
When Catholic priests stop saying Mass because the government said so, not only is it a problem for the government but also for this Catholic priest who simply wimped out. Hold Mass ANYWHERE just like it used to happen in Communist or Nazi countries.
“Chicken Shit, President.” That explains each and every one of these instances....Don’t tell me this guy was oblivious to what was going on at the IRS, NSA, Benghazi etc.
And then he should have broke in.
The military priests I knew had field cases with hosts in them and everything else they needed to say Mass
wrong about the consecrated space
Executive order : 666 shut down all churches nation wide.
Government shut down on whitey, Trayvon’s revenge.
I have attended mass in friends’ house. Were the houses consecrated.
You probably have a case. I know there’s no saying mass at home, nor on the beach nor on a random mountain
Special dispensation with consecratio perhaps. I am no expert.
I’m sure this priest was nnot equipped for a special case
But the priest can say mass only in consecrated space. We've had Mass held a couple of times in our home. And there are sports teams whose chaplains have held Mass at airports as the players awaited their flights.
We can say mass anywhere. It’s being allowed and recognized is a different case
Far be it, he was the nucleolus of those evil nefarious plans.
We had Masses said in my home when I was little
I’m sure it is allowed. My brother-in-law is an orthodox Roman Catholic priest, and he wouldn’t have said Mass at our home if it wasn’t allowed.
Is the (locked by the govt) military chapel owned by the diocese, or by the government?
Same would go for an evangelical worship service. It could be done “al fresco” as long as weather reasonably cooperated. But this is an important reminder view into the administration mindset, IMHO. If anyone wanted to remember what they are hostile to... now you know. They react like a vampire from a... crucifix.
I suppose they could say they have the lights and utilities off to conserve cash, but I wonder if they actually do. It just screams “infantile stunt” to me.
And all those Democrat Catholics who voted for Obama are having their nightmare of sticker shock and buyer’s remorse just about now.
are you a priest?
.. so they marched en-masse with pitch forks and torches to the commanders' quarters and dragged him out by his nightshirt, beating him with clubs and slathering him with hot tar they had prepared aforehand. Someone had breeched the quartermasters supply room and produced a dozen feather pillows which were quickly ripped open and the ensueing mess applied to the wheezing commander.
WHY NOT ???!!!
As an evangelical I don’t know the detailed drill, but I’d guess they would want some sort of blocked off area for the duration of the ceremony, dedicating its use for that time (you don’t have cars driving through, people walking through etc., distracting from the intended worship). The same would be desired for an evangelical worship service for obvious reasons.
Well that’s how God sometimes has to warn believers who think there is “safety in numbers” when those numbers are worldly. The world is going to have to reconcile with God or get judged for its shortfall (actually its shortfall punishes itself — shying away from God’s blessings gets... SURPRISE... curses).
how about bullets whistling by
See Civil War
or Viet Nam
or WWI or WWII
or people being gassed
Mass goes on
devil will be ridiculed
Have been to many a Mass in a field tent
Canon Law gives the proper guidelines.
That is all you need.
Plus the good reason of necessity, such as religious persecution and a reason for not being able to get to a church.
Don’t ask Me. It’s in Canon law
Have been to Mass in several embassies in enemy (Moslem) countries.
This is a religion with a history of gathering in caves when under prosecution. If the Good Lord is deciding to turn bread into His Flesh I’m going to guess He’s not limited to special locations.
“Generally, dereliction of duty refers to failure through negligence or obstinacy to perform ones legal or moral duty to a reasonable expectation. In other words, it means willful or negligent failure to perform assigned duties or performing them in a culpably inefficient manner. Dereliction of duty is a specific offense in military law. “ (Quote from USLegal.com).
Dereliction of duty is an Impeachable Offense, as stipulated in the US Constitution. Dereliction of duty is also a US Military offense subject to a Courts Martial.
Will our sorry Congressional RINOs do their usual kid gloves, “boys will be boys” approach to Obama’s numerous violations of the US Constitution, or will they FINALLY draw up The Articles of Impeachment for B. Hussein Obama?
Again, this 2000 year old religion has Canon Law
People try to compete and do gotchya games with their opinions of how it should be run
Among the reasons it has lasted as long as it has is because it allows the theologians to adjust its Canon
But thre are laws
And I was defending the priest. He was in an unusual situation. And he wants attention paid to the religious persecution aspect.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...”
Obama has VIOLATED the “free exercise” clause!!
Impeach the bastard!
