Bill de Blasio Says Joe Lhota Taking ‘Tea Party View of the World’

Mayoral front-runner Bill de Blasio may be 50 points ahead in the polls, but that isn’t stopping him from hitting his Republican rival, Joe Lhota, whenever he sees an open shot.

Today’s opportunity for the Democrat came when Mr. Lhota said in a WNYC interview that he believes Obamacare’s individual mandate should be postponed for a year because of alleged widespread confusion over its implementation.

“This is another example of the fact that Joe Lhota is a true Republican who is aligning in this case with the extreme views of the Republican Party in the House of Representatives,” charged Mr. de Blasio during his own appearance later in the afternoon on WCBS 880 AM. “This is unbelievable to me that a guy who says he wants to represent New York City would be taking the Tea Party position on the question of the Affordable Care Act.”

Mr. de Blasio has spent the days since the shutdown began trying to tie Mr. Lhota to his party’s more conservative wing in Washington, which is refusing to fund the federal government unless President Barack Obama agrees to defund or delay his signature healthcare law.

Mr. de Blasio argued today that the whole point of the law was to provide health care to millions of uninsured Americans, including an estimated 600,000 in the city.

“What Mr. Lhota is saying is, he thinks, in effect, 600,000 people should continue being uninsured and go without that protection and their families should not have that protection and that we should delay something that could fundamentally cut health costs in this country,” Mr. de Blasio said. “By doing that, he is showing that he is taking a Tea Party view of the world.”

“And I find it outrageous,” he added. “I find it against the interests of New York City.”

Oh, Bill! Will you bring the motorcycle groups into my city on a regular basis? Give them the keys to the city? I can’t wait, you puke.

Heavens above, how could he say that? I’ve heard it so often from people on here that there is no such thing as a conservative New Yorker. So why bother supporting Lhota against Marxists?

The great irony of Leftist, so-called progressive NY City and its politicians is that their position as “leaders” in the world’s financial capital depends almost solely on the earnings of the crony-capitalist, reverse wealth-sucking Federal Reserve and Wall Street which is based in their zip code.

they survive and get their power based everything they claim to hate.

Hello 1970s all over again. NYC had gotten to be an almost livable place. This guy is going to roll the clock back on all the gains made by Rudy G in a week.

All I can say is that the left deserve what they get. I hope all the banks based on Wall street move to Houston

There is nothing alleged about the confusion and downright incompetence of the role out and more and more sheeple are realizing to late that this is a very costly and ill written boondoggle. But this clown like all other socialists has never seen a plan sucking away a free peoples rights and giving them to the government that they did not love.

In some elections a candidate is so far ahead that he should not say anything and he will still win.

In this election this candidate is so far ahead that he can say anything and still win.

It *will* be fun,I must admit,to watch property values on Central Park West and in Tribeca plummet as he serves as First Secretary of the Central Committee.

It’s incredible, isn’t it? You have to wonder WTH are they thinking. 50+pt lead? They do deserve what they get, but when they do they’ll think that they need to take more from others.

Lhota sucks as a candidate.

He ought to be calling for this degenerate marxist scumbag to plead guilty to illegally traveling to Cuba and aiding the Communists in Nicaragua.

He's got no shot because the vast majority of NYC residents are stupid commies too, but at least he could wage a decent campaign.

Loser.

Bill de Blasio proud of his marriage with former lesbian

Public Advocate Bill de Blasio and his wife say they’re proud of their marriage — and of her past as an outspoken lesbian.

The mayoral hopeful and his wife, Chirlane McCray, spoke out in a series of TV interviews in the wake of revelations that McCray identified as a lesbian in the 1970s, and penned an article for Essence magazine titled, “I Am a Lesbian.”

“Chirlane in her youth wrote an incredibly powerful article, and it was brave, and I admire her for it. And it was one of the reasons I fell in love with her. She had the strength to stand up,” de Blasio said in an interview on Fox’s “Good Day New York.”

“But when we met, we fell in love with each other,” de Blasio said. “People, I think, should respect that.” McCray explained her transition from a young lesbian activist to a married mom of two, saying, “The story is that I’m married and I have two children, and that sexuality, I think, is just a very fluid thing, and it’s personal.”
