Meet Tom Waschura, Californian, father of two – oh, and right: Obama supporter. Just got a letter from his healthcare provider telling him that his private health insurance just went up by ten grand a year:
“I was laughing at Boehner — until the mail came today,” Waschura said, referring to House Speaker John Boehner, who is leading the Republican charge to defund Obamacare.
“I really don’t like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family’s pocket each year, that’s otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy.”
Let me tell you a secret: we don’t need people like Mr. Waschura to love us. We just need people like him to vote their class interests, to quote the Marxists who unaccountably confidently expect this rotating disaster of a health care rationing system to fuel public outcry for socialized medicine. They don’t have to vote Republican forever, you know. We’ll be happy if they vote Republican just enough to allow the party to kill this thing. With that in mind, let me just be the first to assure Mr. Waschura that his hope that the rates will be adjusted down in a few years is only half-justified: left unchecked, they will be adjusted. Only upwards. The Democrats always expected and planned that Obamacare would be funded by raiding the incomes of as many people as possible; making the insurance companies the mechanism for jacking up premiums was the only way to get the insurance companies on-board.

The rich morons making a big stink over the GOP shut down make me laugh. The spiking premiums for high-income people are the tip of the iceberg. When this is all over, they’ll be paying 50% of their income in Federal income taxes. In fact, anyone making over $100K will eventually vote in lockstep for the GOP due to crushing income tax rates. However, by then, it will be too late. Because the new programs introduced will benefit so many sub-$100K income households that they can neither be repealed nor reduced in size, and an overwhelming majority of the electorate will be voting Democratic. And all because Democratic and GOP tycoons couldn’t stomach the idea of being aligned with social conservatives who are opposed to gay marriage and abortion, but whose religious views also oppose income redistribution due to their adherence to the commandment that “Thou shalt not steal”, even if the government does it for you. Ultimately, arrogant political retards with more money than sense, and a need to feel superior to some other group (social conservatives) against which it is politically-correct* to feel superior, brought it on themselves.
* Can’t feel superior to blacks without a twinge of racial guilt, so Bible-thumping social conservatives will have to do.

Not long after that happens, it will become obvious that a country can chose to have generous social welfare programs, or it can chose to have open borders. It cannot have both.

Could you imagine the sticker shock of tens of millions of Obama voters when they get their health insurance premiums jacked up 200% or so five weeks before the 2014 elections? Think about it. Millions of morons getting the wake up call of a lifetime five weeks before an election.

The GOP needs rich people to vote their class interests and working and middle class people to vote their religious principles. In practice, we can get most non-union working and middle class people to vote those principles, but the rich has its collective nose too high up in the air to want to be associated with the hoi polloi right.

i was recently laid off and don’t have insurance. i know the deductibles will be outrageous and the quality of care in general will be diminished. that is the natural course of socialized medicine, at a time when i have zero disposable income. oh, btw... jobs, or at least gainful employment, i have noticed are harder to come by. not surprising, eh?
