Lee: Establishment GOP Waged 'All-Out Attack' Against Cruz, Myself

In an interview on Salem Radio's Hugh Hewitt Show, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) revealed that in a conference meeting of Republican Senators earlier this week, a group of Republicans waged an "all-out attack" on himself and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX):

Hewitt: There was, allegedly, a Republican Senate conference earlier this week where your colleague Ted Cruz took a lot of slings and arrows. Were you there, Sen. Lee?

Lee: Yes, Yes! I was there and normally I don't comment at all on closed door meetings among Republican Senators. It's a pretty strict rule we follow. The one exception I'll make is in circumstances like this one where the contents of the meeting were leaked, deliberately, by several of my colleagues and leaked in a very one-sided way so I'm happy to tell you about it here.

Hewitt: Please do

Lee: It was an all-out attack against Ted Cruz and me. It was unflattering, it was unfair, it was demeaning. It was demeaning to Senator Ted Cruz and to me, but more than anything it was demeaning to those who engaged in the attack.

Hewitt: How many Senators rose to speak against you guys?

Lee: Quite a few, enough that I lost count. And you know I have to ask the question, you know, why were those who leaked this, and leaked this in a very unflattering, unfavorable way, why were they not willing to attach their names to those quotes?

You know Ted Cruz and I spoke after the meeting and we both concluded we would both be fine with the American people hearing and seeing exactly what we said in that meeting. But we're pretty sure that most of our colleagues would be very uncomfortable, and downright embarrassed if their constituents saw the way they were

These establishment, big government, clubbish, Republican squishes, whose only conviction is to stay in office, are despicable. I hope we can pick each and every one of them off.

Sorry to disappoint you on your assumptions, no. Good we have first-hand information on this.

You say you want to trust Time and the New York Times for your news. Okay.

You are sounding more and more like the NY Times with that type of slander.

Reread my posts on the other thread.

I trust neither the NY Times or the GOP-E because of their past behavior/record.

You apparently, think that if the NY Times prints something, EVEN IF, something else independently absolutely confirms it, you have a pass to pass it off as propaganda towards the GOP.

The GOP-E is no more your friend as a conservative, than the NY Times.

Let me guess the leading chump. His last name starts with an “M” and end in an “n”.

Oh, I'm guessing his last name starts with an "M" and ends with an "l."

Where can we donate money so that it is only controlled by Ted Cruz?

It's time to clean out the Party. It should be coordinated with the Tea Party so that each State could offer new candidates. The time to start is now to let the RINOs know their conduct is not accepted as Republicans. Start with McCain.

It was actually Ayotte. What a disgrace she turned out to be after this:

Palin endorses Ayotte, hits rivals in Senate race

In a sane world, this would be easy to fix.

Primary every senator up for reelection unless they get a ringing endorsement from Cruz and Lee -- no exceptions.

Of course, this is not a sane world, but we need to start the housecleaning anyway..

The RINOs in the House should be voted out regardless of the risk.

A Senate minority led by Cruz and Lee with several more as energetic and articulate would be more effective than a Senate majority led by the likes of McConnell, McCain and McGrahamnesty.

Believe me, living in Arizona, I KNOW that JOHN MCCAIN IS OUR BIGGEST LIABILITY. How I wish it had been him, instead of Jon Kyle that resigned...McCain needs to be prayed out (literally-by God loving people). He is past praying for redemption, but praying for release of his powers and his presence in the senate. How God chooses to help him out I’ll let him decide. Who’s praying with me? Prayer works only when God’s people are dedicated and we need LOTs and LOTS of prayers going forth RIGHT NOW for our NATION, OUR FREEDOMS (that are in the balance), and for GOD TO TURN BACK this HORRIBLE TIDE of ELITISM AND SOCIALISM in those who profess to “LEAD US”....

Lee: Quite a few, enough that I lost count.

We have much work to do before the senate is worth anything again.

Maybe 5 or 6 we can really count on, sad.

Lee sounded disappointed. And pissed ! You could hear it in his voice. Too many egos in the Senate. He said he got little support...probably from Paul and Rubio.

I don't think we're losing anything. I think we've got the Dems on the run. Their petulant attitudes, apologies, attempts to punish, etc. They are truly scum.

Dems portray and think of the T-Party as a modern day John Birch Society, so they think everybody loves the abuse they're laying on. Surprises coming...there's a lot of voters outside the Beltway. And that goes go R's as well.

Dear John and Lindsey,

If the DNC didn’t have pictures of you two having sex with farm animals, maybe you would behave like Republicans?

Instead, you never miss an opportunity to assist Obama in the destruction of America.

In the U.S. Senate it is the better idea and not the older horse that should lead the way.

Sit down, shut up, and let the CONSERVATIVES LEAD!!!!

The Republican Party is a wholly owned subsidiary of the fanatical leftists—Democrats—and their media publicists. That’s why they hate the Tea Party, because it is wholly owned by the American People. The two are at war with each other.
