How the Tea Party propelled the shutdown
NBC Nightly News ^ | October 01, 2013 | NBC Nightly News

Tea Party members come from some of the most conservative districts in the country, and represent 18 percent of the American population. NBC News spoke with Rep. Bill Cassidy and Rep. Tim Huelskamp about the shutdown and why they say they won’t budge until Democrats budge on the Affordable Care Act.

How many times in the last 3 years has the Tea Party been left for dead by the LSM?

They can’t stand us, partly because it’s like nailing Jello to a wall.

Other than the Tea Party Patriots and such, we have no membership card or other I.D., other than our votes. We disappear in the mist like the Cheshire Cat and come back again on election day.

They can’t stand us because they can’t “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” (Alinsky)

Why must you remark about homosexuals? We have a a solid argument against Obamacare and the media, and you’re spouting off like an ignorant neandrathal. This sort of name calling is a vapid argument for our cause, it’s intellectually irrelevant, and it makes it difficult for intelligent who agree with you to support what you’re trying to accomplish. Use your brain, not your emotions. Do you want to win this fight or don’t you?

If 18% was truly that effective in shutting the country down, they have a LOT more to worry about then they think they do now!

Kinda weird, the Tea Party hasn’t had any type visible functions for a few years now, yet these clowns are totally hung up on Tea Party stuff.

It is just so bizarre.

The Democrats will be wise to have an exit strategy.

If they are smart, it will be an "Exit the Country" strategy.

So, when Obamacare got jammed down our throats without any time to put it through a proof, it tells me we are experiencing tyranny. They held back any dialog and backed the Republicans into the position of putting Obamacare though with all its flaws. Then, when the train wreck hits, the Republican controlled Congress would get the blame. That would be the ammunition the DemonRATs would use in the 2014 elections.

This was a two-pronged strategy. When the Republicans looked into the details of Obamacare, they realized it was a vehicle for disaster. They knew that they would be held accountable. So, they tried to change its major difficulties. Numerous times the Republicans tried to fix Obamacare or defund it with no cooperation from the DemonRATs. All along the DemonRATs were engineering a tactic to create a shutdown. They know this trick worked for Clinton. They engineered this event thinking they can convince Americans that the Republicans are at fault.

The TEA party is dead. The state run media said so 30 days ago.

Where the hell did they get the 18% number?

They are talking about the tea party House members representing 18% of the population. Assuming House districts are equal in population, the 80 members they referred to out of 435 districts is 18.4% of the population.

Kinda hard to exit when you block all the exits. Bullets are their only savior and they are massively out armed due to the 2nd Amendment. Surrender or die.

Why must you remark about homosexuals?

I was making a comparison.

We have a a solid argument against Obamacare and the media, and you’re spouting off like an ignorant neandrathal.

There were homosexual Neanderthals? Didn't know that. More ignorance on my part, obviously.

This sort of name calling is a vapid argument for our cause, it’s intellectually irrelevant, and it makes it difficult for intelligent who agree with you to support what you’re trying to accomplish.

Whom did I call a name, and what name did I call them?
What am I trying to accomplish?

Use your brain, not your emotions. Do you want to win this fight or don’t you?

What did I say that revealed that emotions were getting the better of me?

Dude, I’m just saying stick to the facts and the intellectual points! Expressing your paranoia about homosexuals is not relevant to the Obamacare fight. When u spout off like this, our opponents can say that we our haters. And that weakens our case. Get It? Don’t give our opponents a hammer to hit us with!

I guess I have as much right to say what I want as you do. Who made you boss?

Expressing your paranoia about homosexuals is not relevant to the Obamacare fight.

Where did I express paranoia about homosexuals? I don't feel paranoid about homosexuals. I'm curious; what did I say that seemed paranoid to you?

When u spout off like this, our opponents can say that we our haters. And that weakens our case.

See my first point (above). One person's free speech is another person's "spouting off." It's a matter of opinion.

Don’t give our opponents a hammer to hit us with!

What did I say that could be used as a "hammer?" I don't see it.

>Homosexuals have re-shaped our whole society and they’re about three percent of the population.

Of course it helps when you have most of the leadership institutions of our nation in your pocket.<

IMHO, Steely Tom IS sticking to the facts and merely drawing a comparison.
