Tea Party members come from some of the most conservative districts in the country, and represent 18 percent of the American population. NBC News spoke with Rep. Bill Cassidy and Rep. Tim Huelskamp about the shutdown and why they say they won’t budge until Democrats budge on the Affordable Care Act.

In the eyes of the Mainstream media, the Tea party is discredited, a bunch of crazies. (and if you don’t believe that, you must be a crazy tea partier yourself, about to lose that cushy media job!).

So, they just keep feeding the meme....

Homosexuals have re-shaped our whole society and they’re about three percent of the population.

Of course it helps when you have most of the leadership institutions of our nation in your pocket.

I was happy to help out in Florida 2000.

I thought I was getting good bang for my buck supporting the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

I was proud to have been on the thread when Buckhorn exposed the TANG memo.

But I have never been more proud of anything I have done than I am about my participation with the Tea Party.

What the jackasses in the state controlled "media" don't understand is that this has become a war between those who pay taxes who have been TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY and the freeloaders feeding off of America.

Meanwhile Anderson Cooper of all people is talking some sense on twitter.

“The man at the top should have rolled up his sleeves and had these discussions a long time ago”

“President Obama was re-elected and Republicans were elected in the House”

The TP is not a political party. It is a movement of millions of citizens to reign in out of control government.

There's a reason for the Tea Party movement: people not happy that rules and regulations are being imposed essentially without the people's consent. We've seen this before--the period between 1763 and 1776, when the American colonists loudly protested against the actions of the British government, who imposed taxes on the American colonies to pay for the cost of the Seven Years' War with no input from the American colonists.

So their saying we represent 18%. That’s a complete lie to discredit the tea party, it is a higher number!

If we have 10% that are fully on board, no exceptions or quitters. History says that we win.

The left, while they sound popular. Base their support on the fickle and low educated.

As they pass the Affordable care act. The doctors will leave, and we will have riots (this will take a year or less).

The Dems are over confident (Pride comes before a fall)

One man’s opinion...

The Democrats will be wise to have an exit strategy.
