House Republican leaders are stuck with a tough choice after Senate Democrats succeeded in passing a "clean" budget bill which, contrary to GOP wishes, includes full funding for ObamaCare.
The Senate, capping a dramatic week on Capitol Hill, approved the bill on Friday, after Democrats stripped a Republican-backed provision to defund the health law. The final vote was 54-44.
The bill now returns to the House, and is seen by some lawmakers as a sort of legislative hot potato. If the two chambers cannot agree on a final bill by midnight on Monday, then the government will shut down. Neither side wants to be left holding the bill if that happens.
House Speaker John Boehner could, theoretically, just call up the Senate-passed bill and rely on mostly Democrats to pass it. But House Republicans are under heavy pressure, now, from fellow conservatives to stand by their demand that ObamaCare be defunded, or least delayed.
"I don't know of anyone who wants to shut down the government. The only thing we want to shut down is ObamaCare," Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said.
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who staged an unsuccessful effort to stall the bill in the Senate, predicted the House would restore anti-ObamaCare provisions -- and urged Senate Republicans to unite with them. "Today, far too many Republicans joined Harry Reid in giving the Democrats the ability to fund ObamaCare," he said.
Boehner signaled he will not accept the Senate-passed bill in its current form.
"The House will take action that reflects the fundamental fact that Americans don't want a government shutdown and they don't want the train wreck that is ObamaCare," spokesman Brendan Buck said in a statement.

The duty and honor is on the House to save the Republic.
James Madison and the Framers gave you the tools to block a power grabbing chief executive teaming up with an equally treasonous senate to illegally expand the federal government beyond its constitutional limits (see Federalist 58).
The House and the House alone has the awesome constitutional power and duty to deny this illegal expansion and destruction of the constitution by simply denying funding for the President's runaway, nation-wrecking expansionist program. If the House does not vote to fund it, it cannot be funded. And there's nothing the Senate or the President or the SCOTUS or the godless liberal media can do about it.
You are the elected representatives of we the people and we have your backs.
There is no other business before the House at this time that can possibly be more important to the saving of the constitution and the Republic than this.
Let the petulant President and the Senate and the press threaten and howl right up to Nov 2014 if necessary. We the people know the truth and there will be a new Republican Senate elected by a landslide in 2014 along with a new Republican President in 2016.

Why don’t they simply send back to the Senate individual bills funding segments of the government? If Reid won’t pass them then he will be responsible for the shutdown.

I like Pat Buchanan’s idea - send them a bill funding every department, but no Obamacare in any of it.
Just saw Peter King on O’Reilly. He’s pissed at Cruz, says Cruz knew all along he couldn’t win so he wasn’t sincere in trying.
So I guess Cruz was supposed to know the fix was in and fall in line according to this creep.
The duty and responsibility is in his hands. At this moment, he is the most powerful man on the planet. If he fails to do his constitutional duty as set forth by James Madison and the Framers, we lose our constitutional Republic. Obama will have succeeded in his efforts to transform America from a constitutional Republic to a lawless dictatorship.
We pray that God grants our Speaker with the wisdom and strength to take the appropriate constitutional steps to save the Republic.

Each time the Democrat-controlled Senate will have to explain why they won’t fund:

The VA
The Social Security Administration, etc.
Sooner or later, Democrat inflexibility on this issue will become apparent to the persuadable electorate.
That is the plan. We need to pray that Mr. Speaker maintains the strength to see it through, no matter how long it takes. He and our House Republicans and any Democrats who join in are going to need 100% of our support and encouragement. The Godless liberal media will be swarming like devils 24/7.
What these traitors should be saying is: “I don’t care about next election, I’m here to represent the people now, in this fight.”
But they won’t, all they care about is the “next” election.

I’m confused. I thought the bill was to run the government a little while longer WITHOUT a budget. Why is Fox calling this a budget bill? Shouldn’t it be called an anti-budget bill?

The potential of a “government shutdown” only entered the picture when dingy harry arbitrarily refused to consider the House bill. If there is a shutdown it will come as a direct result of dhimmi (in)action.
