Senate tosses shutdown hot potato back to House

President Barack Obama said Friday that new exchanges for private health insurance under Obamacare will open next week as scheduled even if there is a government shutdown, adding: "That's a done deal."

In a congressional version of hot potato, the Senate on Friday passed a short-term spending plan that would prevent a looming government shutdown and sent it to the House for a weekend showdown between Republican tea party conservatives and their more moderate party leaders.

The 54-44 vote on strict party lines came after Senate Democrats pushed through an amendment to restore funding for Obamacare that House Republicans had eliminated in their version of the spending measure, which would prevent the start of a government shutdown on Tuesday.

Now House Speaker John Boehner must decide whether to urge his divided Republican caucus to vote with Democrats to pass the Senate plan, or yield again to a hardline conservative wing that demands making continued government funding contingent on undermining Obamacare.

Cruz loses filibuster bid

President Barack Obama, who has criticized Republicans for their attacks on his signature health care reforms, will make a previously unscheduled public statement at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday, the White House announced.

The 54-44 vote on strict party...lies.

That's the promised cover vote so every weasely RINO can claim to have voted against Obamacare.

The cloture vote was the only real vote. Make certain that gets out there.

Let the House quickly reject this legislation and send the same bill back. The hot potatoe needn’t stay in the House very long.

Start the game again.

The House can simply vote this bill down and send a new clean bill (one without Obamacare in it) to the Senate. There’s no need for the hot potatoe to stay in the House.

Bounce it back to the Senate late Monday night.

Demand a clean bill, one without Obamacare.

The people deserve a second look at Obamacare, one where we can read the bill first.

Peter King TRASHING Ted Cruz on Blowhard O’Reilly. How nice of the bloviator to give this creep airtime. What train did Peter jump off?

King is attacking Cruz on behalf of Chris Christie. This was revealed on Wednesday, He is angling for SecDef or DHS in a Crispy Creme admin (God forbid).

*Sigh*

Okay, I’ll resign to the fate that we’re up sh** creek without a paddle and go on living my life, because I can jump and scream and holler, write nasty letters to my dem senators, etc., and still nothing changes...

It will only get worse folks. I’m going to try to learn how to survive this screwy f****fest.

(Sorry, I’m really in a foul mood right now. I feel like playing the “knockout game” with some Democrats)

Then shouldn’t the House stake out a position and not change? Send it back to the Senate as many times as it takes. Fund the government, not Obamacare.

The people will figure it out eventually.

.

- John McCain and Peter King are living out “THE(IR) LAST HARRAH” as the(ir) days dwindle down to a precious few.......

- Peter King had no shot at becoming a US Senator and John McCain is angry as he sees a mucho younger Ted Cruz standing their for hours; so angry that McCain asked Harry Reid to ask Cruz to give McCain a few minutes to criticize Conservatives -

- As I watched B Hussein II flailing on TV about Cruz and Fox News Channel (in the manner of Ghengis Khan) I thought of how much more unhinged the Kenyan Messiah is getting.....

- “How dare those peasants challenge my.....”

They could, but no evidence to suggest they will. Polling has the republicans being blamed. I do not see anything in the numbers that hint republicans are on solid footing. You also have the senate republicans screaming for a deal. If you crash the system you better be right and have support or you will pay. Obamacare may be unpopular but not wildly so. Democrats want single payer so the numbers are soft on Obamacare but given the choice they are not giving it up. Independents show marginally against until you talk shutdown then they are solidly against. Look imam all for the cause I just do not see a way of winning with Obama in the whitehouse. You will never have a veto majority and shutting down the government may sound cool but in the end the numbers say it is a loser.

It is time for scorched Earth.Let them shut the crappy government down. Get your guns. Go get food and get gasoline reserves . Then kill the “walking dead” that try to get your stuff. The queers and women in the military will fall apart.(God fearing AMERICAN soldiers will not join in the fight against us.) Let us gird our Christian loins> NOW!!

I love that he’s whipping votes in the House. He’s replacing McConnell and Boehner. He’s like a hot knife through butter.

I think that the fight if there is one will be against DHS and the cops, not the military.

You are exactly right. So, the question is, why? Why will the senate Republicans destroy their own party over Obamacare which will destroy the already frail economy?

The answer has to be the top to bottom corruption in DC. Or blackmail of an unknown heretofore nature: as revealed by Snowden. The Manchurian has NSA on all of these creeps.

I think it is pretty funny too. The one thing about that goes to my original post though. What he is doing is unprecedented. When the leader of a coup fails...... What happens? Now if you succeed you are supreme leader. I just do not see how he gets the president to defund his signiture legislation. Just not going to happen. With failure comes the Queen of hearts, off with his head!!!!!
