Ciao, Barilla!
The alleged anti-gay comments of a famous Italian pasta baron have left a bad taste in the mouths of millions after saying outright that he doesn't agree with homosexual values.
Guido Barilla, the chairman of Italy's world-famous Barilla pasta, sparked outrage after saying on an Italian radio show that he would only feature the "classic family" in his advertisements.
Adding insult to injury, he said that those who weren't welcoming his worldview to just buy another brand of pasta.
Speaking on Italy's Radio 24 on Wednesday, the 55-year-old, a fourth-generation Barilla, said: "I would never do (a commercial) with a homosexual family, not for lack of respect but because we don't agree with them. Ours is a classic family where the woman plays a fundamental role."
Barilla added that if gays "like our pasta and our advertising, they'll eat our pasta; if they don't like it then they will not eat them and they will eat another brand."
The statement has got Barilla in a pot of hot water, as pro-gay groups are calling for a protest of the pasta brand's vast amount of goods from spaghetti to sauces.

I eat barilla all the time, and I’m going to continue to do so.
Good for them.
Not so fast.
He already apologized and walked back his comments.
Millions? Really? And what proof do you have?

Barilla is good pasta.
We have quite a bit stored already.
But I’ll make sure to buy even more from now on.
I’ll have to go buy some more now. I love their pasta. It doesn’t fall apart like some. I have quite a bit in my SHTF supply.
At least one doesn't have to wonder where Barilla brant pasta has been before it gets to your table, if you catch my drift.
We all know — IT IS NOT ABOUT TOLERANCE, IT IS ABOUT JAMMING THEIR LIFESTYLE DOWN OUR COLLECTIVE THROATS, FORCING YOU AND ME TO CELEBRATE IT BY COERCION.
And now we will have more!
The Gay Mafia wins again.
Once again proving that “tolerance” is not the end-goal for the pro-homosexual agenda. Nothing but complete approval and acceptance will do. Remember, with militant liberals, tolerance is a one-way street.
Where can I get a “I love a Barilla” bumper sticker?
In the new Amerika anyone who doesn’t agree with the homosexual lifestyle is considered a hateful bigot. That’s what happened with my family when I opposed my cousin’s gay lifestyle, this stuff tears families apart. The gays want everyone to be miserable like them and destroy the family.
Tolerance of all is the most important value! Henceforth anyone found to lack sufficient tolerance will be ostracized in disgrace! We will not tolerate intolerance!
We’ve gotten to the point where there are certain truths that you know and practice, but don’t publicly express. Otherwise the thought police will come down on you.
The pasta guy can’t say what he thinks, but he can practice it. No fags in the commercials. No comment on why.
I recall growing up that this is how things were done in the good old USSR.
bump
I am a little confused as to why we even care how Barilla spends his advertizing dollars and the choices that they make in the type of advertizing that they believe is most effective.
Isn’t the point to extoll the product...not the vices of those who consume it ?
