The Revolutionary War was a rebellion against Britain, but it first required a battle between Tories and Patriots. Ted Cruz is fighting for the honor of leading the conservative movement. The main goal is to give the American people a voice, defeat the Democrat Party, and take over Congress and the White House, so we can shrink our federal government back to constitutional limits.
The battleground of the moment is ObamaCare. But the first adversary that must be defeated is the Republican establishment. Is it any wonder that the Republican leadership is working to make sure the defunding effort fails?
Ted Cruz is pinning his ambitions to the big reality the Tea Party represents: conservatives really are fed up with both parties in Washington, D.C. The Republican base allowed Obama to be re-elected when an estimated five million of us stayed home in the 2012 election. It may not have been wise, but it happened for a very good reason: they didn't see the Republican Party representing them.
The D.C. establishment, and this includes both parties, is doing very well, thank you. The suburbs around Washington are the wealthiest in the nation. They and their families were untouched by the Obama economic meltdown. A huge government, spending a quarter of our nation's wealth, with almost half the populace dependent on their largesse, is good for them. It is not good for us.
The Republican leadership want to defeat ObamaCare, but mostly they want to use it as a campaign talking point to return to power. They are not willing to fight with all their hearts and minds to protect the American people from this disaster. That might be risky. That might not play well in this week's polls.

Capitalization matters. A lot of these people calling themselves “Republicans” couldn’t even give you a decent defintion of “republic” without Google. I think to qualify as a “republican” you ought to at least be able to do that.
The feeling is mutual.
Heck, getting out of their districts is half the reason some of these guys run. (I think that is why there are so many closeted gay Republicans from Red States.)

I’ve heard that for 20 years now. And look at the rewards. Never again. I will vote for a candidate and stopped supporting a party some time ago. Anyone who has a problem with that....well...can jump off the bridge paid for by taxpayers and supported by that party.
According to polls, the military is the most respected group in America. The military is respected because it embodies leadership and courage.
Maybe the republican party can somehow glean a lesson from that, but I have doubts.
Look closely at the candidates and consider ones that show true outsider credentials ala Palin or Cruz or even Rand Paul.

How does the layman’s definition of insanity go, doing the same thing over and over, while expecting different results?
They started voting for a third party in Canada in 1993 and it took 10-15 years for the old “Progressive Conservative” party to fade away with a new “Conservative Party of Canada” emerging and coming into power.
I seriously believe that over 90 percent of the Republicans we elect are fake and phony insiders who imitate conservatism.
In the Senate Lee, Paul and Cruz seem to be the only real outsiders.
And consider this, after Boehner cut the tax increase and debt increase deal with Obama at the beginning of the year, fewer than 16 House Republican members were willing to challenge his leadership.
Speaking of Tories and Patriots...we should all ask ourselves how much we actually support those who advocate our principles, and how much we actually support those who don’t. How much support does one give to the Tea Party, how much to the existing federal government?

Mitt's father George of Michigan, Scranton of Pennsylvania, the whole lot of the RNC establishment all joined the liberals to attack the "purveyors of hate" and the "KKK".
They tried to destroy Reagan but failed. Now it appears that their spite drives the effort to discredit Reagan. They play for keeps. They are the anointed ones along with the DNC.
BTW many of those liberals fled the Democratic Party and became Republicans as the Marxist-Alinsky campus radical, psycho spoiled brats took over the Democratic Party in the 1970s.

Agree. Focus on the state level, down ticket, assembly. Begin the process of State Amendment Conventions which will take several years. And further examine your state’s Secretary of State (SOS) as they manage election/voter oversight/rules. Read — Voter ID. Meeting with your local assembly reps is a good idea. The answer is not in DC.

Rand is apparently trying to run for president in 2016 and thinks the pathway is to endorse McConnell for re-election next year. NOT.
He has ruffled some feathers like McCain’s and Christie’s but his Sunday comments dissing Cruz’s effort by suggesting it may not succeed smells a bit.
Nope. 1st Amendment rights aren't based on whether someone votes or not. Sorry it's not all nice and neat for you, but you don't get to control what other people do.
