In the next few days, politicians in Washington, D.C., will do and say many things to make it look and sound as if they are against Obamacare when in fact they are ultimately planning to use the power that has been vested in them by the people of their districts and states to ensure that Obamacare is funded and implemented.
But make no mistake: If Obamacare is funded and implemented it will be because Republican members of Congress decided to do it.
This is not a debatable supposition. It is an irrefutable fact. The fate of Obamacare is controlled completely by Republicans -- period.
Article 1, Section 9, Clause 7 of the Constitution says: "No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law." That means that President Barack Obama cannot spend a dollar out of the Treasury unless Congress has enacted a law authorizing him to spend that dollar. As of now, the law authorizing Obama to spend dollars expires on Sept. 30.
Both houses of Congress must pass a bill and the president must sign that bill for it to become law. If the House does not pass a bill authorizing Obama to spend money implementing Obamacare in the period after Sept. 30, Obama cannot spend money for that purpose.
Last week, the Republican-controlled House approved a bill to fund the government after Sept. 30 that specifically states that "no Federal funds shall be made available to carry out any provisions" of Obamacare and that prohibits all the new "entitlements and benefits" under Obamacare from taking effect.
As long as House Republicans insist on keeping this language in any legislation enacted to fund the government after Sept. 30, Obamacare is dead.
If House Republicans decide to remove this language, Obamacare will live. And, if House Republicans decide to let Obamacare live now, it almost certainly will live (or evolve into a single-payer health care system) as long as America itself manages to stumble along under the accumulating burden of it and all the other welfare-state programs that have been created in this nation since President Franklin Roosevelt first began building an American welfare state in the 1930s.
It will not matter if Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., refuses to move a government funding bill through the Senate that includes the House language defunding Obamacare. It will not matter if Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. and the majority of Senate Republicans -- except Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Mike Lee, R-Utah, and a few other stalwarts -- decide to let Reid pass legislation to fund Obamacare by a simple majority vote. It will not matter if Obama vows to veto any legislation that includes the House language that prohibits funding for Obamacare.
Unless the Republican-controlled House passes legislation that permits funding of Obamacare, Obamacare is dead.
The strategic framework of this battle is simple: Every thing Obama, Senate Democrats and their allies in the liberal media are doing in this fight seeks a single end -- making House Republicans enact legislation funding the implementation of Obamacare.
If Obama, Senate Democrats and their allies in the liberal media cannot make House Republicans fund Obamacare, they lose and America wins.
So the question is this: Why would House Republicans abandon their current principled position and go ahead and fund Obamacare?
In general terms, this answer is also simple: They will only do it if they believe that for enacting legislation to fund Obamacare they will get something they value even more in return.
But what could that be?
To answer that it is first necessary to weigh the value of what the Republicans would get if they hold their ground and stop Obamacare. In that case, they would preserve a large measure of American freedom that is imminently threatened.
Under Obamacare, for the first time ever, the federal government will force American citizens to buy a product they do not want.
Under Obamacare, the administration will give tax dollars to insurance plans that pay for abortions -- the deliberate taking of innocent life.
Under Obamacare, the administration will force Catholics and other Christians to buy and/or provide coverage for services -- including sterilizations, artificial contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs -- that violate the teachings of their faith.
Obamacare will annihilate both freedom of conscience and innocent human lives -- in the babies aborted by its subsidies.
Could Obama and Senate Democrats and the liberal media offer anything of such great value that House Republicans should trade it for this?
No.
No longer the case as Bammy continues as a Dicktater.
The Pubbies will cry, “but we don’t have the votes!”.
The d’s don’t control the House, which is essential to all that happens.
You don’t see them saying they don’t have the votes.
Why is not Boehner doing a Reid saying, “anything that funds obamacare is DOA?”
Why not?
Because they don’t have the guts. They are not unified.
This is of course what Cruz is saying, rightly.
And NOT Ted Cruz. They are all on record as saying he has no control Hell take the win, though, if he gets it, if he doesn’t, people will turn to him when their monthly bill increases by $600 or so, and no one buys anything but groceries
You must ask yourself; “Who benefits from Obamacare?” And another which is being ignored is why “If you oppose Obamacare you are Racist.”

Ummm....I’m pretty sure the Democrats get to vote on it too.

This looks like a “people are overawed by evil” problem to me.
Sometimes it takes a school of hard knocks to get through people’s heads that yes, when you stick with God, you get hurled into some nasty battles but you also win.
And sometimes dire necessity is the only thing that will get people to try that approach. To put it in a more purely spiritual plane... the fear of hell can’t get anybody to heaven, but it can get them to the point where they endeavor to make amends with heaven (at which point they find it surprisingly easy... the cross already did the tough stuff).
Anyhow, Obama “care” is the political hell that God has set up here to inspire people to look for heaven again. IMHO.

The government’s to blame. The Republicans are to blame. For everything since FDR. Yup.
Who pays their salaries? Who keeps sending them money to stuff their own pockets, and to give away to cronies and moochers?
Would that Congressional leaders were willing to have that attitude and sell it to the American people. Go Cruz. Go Lee. Go Good Guy Party!
Actually annihilating the law would need that. However if the GOP decided it was going to get whineproof and just didn’t lend its hand to doling out any more funds to Obama “care” ... well first there would be the sulphurous clouds of the usual doom and gloom Democrat lies... then if the GOP stood fast, reports would start coming in about how all these reprieves from the monster have made the economy more optimistic, and what’s left of private health care is actually rallying. I say GOP, dig in there. Don’t lend your hand to what is manifestly wrong. God rewards what is right.

The answer is money, power, sex, or media attention. These are the things used in DC to control our elected representatives. Money works for most. The cost of running a campaign is so high it all but the wealthiest representatives of the people must sell out to the special interests who provide the big campaign money. Others fall to the opportunity to engage in sex with the beautiful men and women who hang around the powerful and then are subject to blackmail. Others, are addicted to power and must do the bidding of the power structure to acquire and retain power. Finally, there are the egomaniacs like McCain and Graham who love to be on television. To be a regular on the weekly talk show circuit they must toe the line of the media bosses who choose the featured guests on the shows.
Essentially they will abandon principle to take care of their interests.
If the republicans refuse to fund Obamacare, Justice Roberts will just declare their actions unconrtitutional anyway.
Anything that has a negative effect on King Obama’s self esteem is not allowed in the United States Of Obama.
Well actually annihilating it might not even need Democrats. If GOP paralyzed it until the next presidential election, the salutary results could result in a landslide.
Elephants are bigger than donkeys, fellas... I recall vaguely where the donkey iconography came from. It was a political cartoon by, IIRC, Nast. Where a man in a donkey suit (or something like that) managed to frighten a vastly larger elephant. It was actually meant to display the cowardice of the GOP of the time. The Donk party actually treated that kind of morally false victory as a badge of honor. About time to bring them some reality and STOMP, ye elephants!
Maybe instead of sitting on your behind in the 2012 election you should have been voting for the Republican senator in your state. Not voting or voting for a third party candidate, who has zero chances to win doesn't help. You need to stop whining and do everything you can so we can take the senate back

Still, we thank the good Lord if we need a spare and that’s the one we got. Sure we have to go at 50 mph till we get it fixed and that’s a bummer. But it was better than being stranded and maybe robbed or perish in the elements.
I know of no method to secure the repeal of bad or obnoxious laws so effective as their stringent execution.

What is worth keeping 0bamacare alive? To the House Republicans, it is the fear that they will be blamed for a government shutdown. It is the fear that they will lose their precious seats in Congress.
In other words, they, as does EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF CONGRESS, love their jobs more than they love their country. Not one of them will do the right thing if they believe it will cost them their seat in Congress.
Done deal. Period. End of statement.
