We have an individual policy for two people. Our premium is going up 57%!!!. That will be with the lowest “bronze” plan; deductible of $6350 and monthly premium of $1000. Such a deal. We have no pre-existing conditions, have had no major claims, etc. Sure, we could get the taxpayer funded kickback going through an exchange but that is something we would never do. First, it is against everything we stand for and second, it opens you up to potential identity theft and “visits” from government agents to check who knows what. What a nightmare but that is exactly what Obama and Valerie Jarrett hand in mind all along.

The only “subsidies” I’ve seen so far are “tax credits.”

That means you need to have a job and actually earn enough to pay taxes, or it means you earn enough to qualify for the EITC welfare payment.

What happens to people who are unemployed or earn less than a taxable income?

And who is going to keep track of this accounting nightmare?

People are always entering or leaving the work force or having their hours increased or reduced.

Their monthly payments should change, right?

Is the insurance deduction going to be subtracted directly from your paycheck, like income tax and Social Security?

If not, what happens if you blow through your money one month and miss a payment?

For months, we’ve heard about how Obamacare’s trillions in health care subsidies were going to save America from rate shock. It’s not true. If you shop for coverage on your own, you’re likely to see your rates go up, even after accounting for the impact of pre-existing conditions, even after accounting for the impact of subsidies.

So if I am going to pay a small fortune every month I prefer to pay it to any company than the federal govt.

These are just the rates for the first year. Newly insured people will overuse the system and get stuff just because “it’s covered”. Rates based on costs will skyrocket in the future.

I am guessing the strategy here. I *think* the strategy is continue to keep insisting people are paying these really low numbers and keep insisting that premiums have gone down X%. No matter what anyone one says or any number of anyones the MSM will continue to parrot this line.

Then, if you dare argue to the opposite bring true you will be ridiculed and called some sort of derogatory name that they haven't rolled out yet but will very soon(denier, birther, etc.) Eventually, the usual suspects will fall in line. See climate change and the birth certificate for SOP.

If they DO provide subsidies and that goes lower, I'm afraid a lot of working people WILL opt for it.

That's what I'm thinking. Once they get the LIVs hooked on the "Affordable Care" and buy their support, and they have nowhere else to go, they will then drop the hammer and people will lose their coverage.

People are going to die as a result of this wrecking ball "reform".

And who is going to keep track of this accounting nightmare?

IIRC didn't the IRS get to hire 15k attorneys and accountants to administer Obamacare?

This is such a travesty. I am getting hammered on both insurance and the increased tax rate to pay for this crap for others. Let me put it this way... somebody isn’t going to get a job building a barn for me this year because my obamacare health insurance taxes have gone up so much.

Ditto. I was going to hire a floor guy to come and complete a flooring project for me, but hell.. if I'm going to have to set aside thousand$ in preparation for these new expenses, I'll continue on with completing the job myself.

This is the ripple effect often unseen by many... the jobs that don't get hired out because people have to marshal their extra dollars because of this BS.

Heading over to Yahoo now to blast some O-bots.

I do that too, just for fun. The o-bots over there are stunningly ignorant of reality, so it's more like a shooting-carp-in-a-barrel operation.

I’m not getting Obama-anything, I’m not paying a tax, and I’m not paying a fine.

My local radio station was saying that the Obamacare insurance will cost 9.5% of a person or family’s income. Those making under $60,000 per year will receive a subsidy. The maximum subsidy is 3%.

My husband did the calculation for us and here is his reply to me:

" I tried it and I got a monthly premium of $1249 based on our age. 15K a year - no way. "

But how much is the deductible for $328 per month? I heard that there is a $6,000 per person deductible on that policy.

Is the part you currently pay taken out of your check before taxes? That won’t be possible under Obama. In his plan you will pay taxes first, then buy Obamacare insurance with your own money. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them declare that a sale of services and tax it too.
