The senate has to approve bills and the president has to sign them into law, but appropriation bills must ORIGINATE in the house. If the house wants to deny funding for any provision of law, they simply do not pass an appropriations bill funding it and there’s not a damn thing the senate or president can do—except throw a hissy fit.
Then why are “we” going through this BS exercise then? Just F’n kill the damned thing in the house.
Yup. That’s exactly what Cruz is recommending if Reid gets his way. Reject what the senate sends back and write a new bill or series of bills.
There would have been plenty of tar and feathers over that.
The current legislatures are smug in the security that even the worst of their corrupt policies will evoke no personal pain for themselves.
