E.W. Jackson says non-Christians are engaged in ‘some sort of false religion’
The Washington Post ^ | 9/23/13 | Michael Laris

At a morning sermon Sunday in Northern Virginia, Republican lieutenant governor candidate E.W. Jackson, a Chesapeake pastor, said people who don’t follow Jesus Christ “are engaged in some sort of false religion.”

Jackson offered that view while describing a list of the “controversial” things he believes, and that must be said, as a Christian....

It is not the first time Jackson has weighed in with controversial comments on questions of faith and social issues. He has also said that gay people’s “minds are perverted. They are frankly very sick people psychologically and mentally and emotionally.”...

The comment about Christianity probably wasn't helpful but what he said about perverts should have also included the observation that they're *morally* sick.

Most adherents to one religion consider other religions to be false.

Why would anyone consider that newsworthy?

So what’s the problem? Lots of people are serving lesser gods including Satan.

Some of them are stark raving moon barking child rapist, murders, They even claim they are a religion of peace when all they do is lust for bloodshed and prepubescent boys.

Mohammed servant of Satan!

Not all of them are. Doesn’t really help in persuading them to become conservative does it.

Well, I understand his viewpoint; it’s basic Christian theology, and I don’t care that such is his belief. It’s nothing new.

To the extent he ceases to be a faithful representative to persons who don’t share his theology because of his theology or choses to use his power as a (potential) elected official, however, there is an issue.

Why is this controversial. EVERY sincere person of EVERY religion will say the same thing.

Lots of Jewish people are liberal.

A lot more would be conservative, if “being conservative” wasn’t so easily conflated with “covert or die” Christianity of near history.

I don’t see that US conservatives (the real ones) ever engaged in that kind of behavior. The Americans that did were typically voters of the Democrat Party, remember.

Also, take a look at Israel. A great deal of the same type of liberal Jews I speak of are engaged in the suicidal notion of “land for peace”, thinking that the “Palestinians” are ever going to stand for the continued existence of the Jewish state. In the USA, voting for a party that dares to remove God from its platform certainly will not show one’s Jewishness.
