Any government shutdown would be ordered by the petulant President Obama and Senate Democrats
Sept 23, 2013 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 09/23/2013 11:35:00 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Let's be absolutely clear here. If the Democrat controlled Senate rejects the Continuing Resolution passed by the House that completely funds the entire government except for President Obama's unconstitutional, nation-wrecking, job-killing, pet project, the trainwreck also known as "Obamacare," then it is they (Obama and the Democrat Senate) who are clearly ordering the totally radical and unnecessary shutdown the of the federal government.

The bill passed by the House fully funds all legitimate government functions. The people do not want federal government controlling their healthcare and they are speaking through their elected representatives.

It would be prudent for the President and the Senate to abide by the will of the people rather than threatening them. Pass the bill that funds the government!

And stop lying. Do not blame any shutdown on the Republicans in the House. They are doing the will of the people. When you blame them for your own obstinate acts, you are lying and you are punishing the people.

And when you claim our military won't be paid, you are lying. When you say social security checks won't go out you are lying. Past experience proves that all essential government services will continue. The main thing that will happen if the Democrat President and the Democrat Senate orders the radical shutdown of the government is hundreds of thousand of non-essential government employees will be laid off. Big deal. Life will go on.

You don’t seriously think the Rats are going to stop lying? And the LIV will ever stop believing the lies?

This is frustrating as all get-out Jim!

Good afternoon. I hope you are doing well.

Prayers up for healing on the leg. The Lord is always kind and merciful. He hears our petitions.

Sorry Jim, no matter what you say, how accurate and truthful you are, there will be at least 51% of the public blaming Republicans. Take for instance this exchange I had with a progressive/democrat/liberal/socialist...

Me: who you gonna blame if the government runs out of money October 1?
She: the Republicans of course.
Me: why? They don't control the presidency or the Senate. They have very little power.
She: doesn't matter...

And you know as well as I do that the state controlled media will reinforce that meme 24/7. From services that will continue (SS and VA) to services that will be interrupted (EBT and Sec 8), doesn't matter. Matter of fact, Ted Cruz will get the blame, and the MSM will make that ridiculous ascertain stick.

Take care of yourself.

The Democrats want to shut the government down to keep Obamacare open.

Exactly. They can have one or the other but not both. I say we make them choose.

I couldn’t agree more....

But the GOP MUST get out in front of this issue and beat the enemy to the punch with the messaging as to how a shutdown came to pass. The dems are going to press the narrative it’s all the Repubs’ fault.

I’ll summarize it a few words: deathcare is a nation killer. And if we fail, the next steps are not going to be parsing words over the implementation, it’s going to be people petitioning their state legislatures for a divorce.

I am opposed to secession. But that’s where this is going whether I like it or not. Choose carefully, senators.

Obamacare cannot be funded without a House vote. That’s all that needs to be known.

Obamacare was funded when Pelosi and Reid forced it through Congress. There is no further vote necessary to fund it. The Continuing Resolution does not fund Obamacare. It can defund it, but it doesn't fund it.

The bill passed by the House fully funds all legitimate government functions.

Heard a local attorney yesterday say that "a minority like the Tea Party" shouldn't be able to shut the government down. Dems are throwing everything they have at the spin that essential government functions like food stamps and social security checks are threatened.

That is the truth. And here is some more truth: deathcare is a nation killer.

I’m opposed to secession. But should we fail in getting rid of deathcare, that’s where this is going. And if one large enough state leaves, many others will follow. They’ll essentially have to: just take a moment and do the electoral math.

I have to wonder if that’s the underlying objective: the breakup of the US?

Jane, just talked to my senator’s office. The Republicans in the senate plan on caucusing tomorrow to decide on how best to go forward.

Call now if you want your voices heard.

Obama and his ilk do not necessarily want to and the United States right away, I think they want to merge it into a utopian socialist world order. They want to do this because they believe the system as it exists is inherently unjust and should be done away with to make way for the New World order.

It is important to understand that Obama despises our values, our history, our Constitution, our institutions, our political system because he thinks it is racist and oppressive as any capitalist system is in his eyes. Obamacare is just one more battle in the eternal struggle to transform America into something better, more just, and less belligerent.

Obamacare is just one battle in a war without end.

Post 6:

You’ve said it succinctly and clearly, as you usually do.

How come the GOP isn’t blanketing the airwaves with this as an easy to understand rallying cry? (Rhetorical question).

This is where McConnell and the Rinos will try to back stab us.
Hope there is some type of revolt against the establishment.

The people do not want federal government controlling their healthcare and they are speaking through their elected representatives.

Regarding the people demanding that the House of Representatives defund constitutionally indefensible Obamacare, some patriots have been referencing Federalist No. 58 which was written by James Madson.

In Federalist No. 58, Madison actually emphases that one of the main reasons that the Founding States delegated the power of the purse solely to the House of Representatives (HoR) was give the HoR a means by which the people could redress their grievances against the Oval Office for usurping legislative powers (my wording), not that Obama would dare think of usurping Congress's powers. =^O

Here's key wording from Federalist No. 58:

The House of Representatives cannot only refuse, but they alone can propose, the supplies requisite for the support of government. They, in a word, hold the purse that powerful instrument by which we behold, in the history of the British Constitution, an infant and humble representation of the people gradually enlarging the sphere of its activity and importance, and finally reducing, as far as it seems to have wished, all the overgrown prerogatives of the other branches of the government. This power over the purse may, in fact, be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate representatives of the people, for obtaining a redress of every grievance, and for carrying into effect every just and salutary measure.

Irrelevant. The news networks and wire services will view it as a catastrophe, and blame it on conservatives and Republicans.

Until we replace the networks and the wire services, we will continue spiraling towards doom. We will vote out Obama but simply vote in another Obama until the AP is toppled.

It’s not irrelevant when the people who matter know the truth. And I believe the Reaganesque Ted Cruz has the communications skills and statesmanship to take the message over the heads of the media and directly to the people. And he and Lee and Palin, and all patriots will be pounding the message home 24/7.
