I watched the speech. All partisan politics aside, I found it to be very inappropriate for the setting. It was overtly political, and the intended kind words in it were delivered with an emotional distance that I could only describe as coolly detached. I didn’t buy a word of it. And I’d say that even if I was a supporter of his (which I am not).
