“Given the long history of using debt limit increases to achieve bipartisan deficit reduction and economic reforms, the speaker...”

This actually happened when, ever, in history?

I don’t know why Boehner didn’t call Ubama first and tell him there would be no debt negotiations.

Larry Kudlow said it was like the girl repeatedly phoning up her boyfriend to yell at him that she was “Not Speaking” to him anymore. Then both parties slamming the phone.

This is something that needs to be shouted from the rooftops...

OBAMA REFUSES TO NEGOTIATE!

Why? I’ve read enough in the comment sections on these articles to KNOW the liberal/progressives don’t have a clue that it is the DEMOCRATS that are holding all this up, not the Republicans.

From last night one comment to me was then the Republicans should pass a bill without 0bamacare in it and they can all come back to it later. I returned to them a link about what the heck the House passed.

AND I am sorry to say this, but I do think we need to downplay the fact that funding of the ACA is not in the bill of the CR. The House passed a bill to keep the government running period. I think the marketing guru’s of the Republican Party are failing to get the correct talking point out there! And like 0bama’s redline, we’re failing on the overall message, AGAIN.

I am to the point that I do think somebody needs to write the darn script and talking points for the Republican Party or at least let them borrow 0bama’s teleprompter for a day or two.

“The President telephoned Speaker Boehner and told him again that the full faith and credit of the United States should not and will not be subject to negotiation,” the official said in a statement provided to POLITICO. “The President reiterated that it is the constitutional responsibility of the US Congress to pass the nation’s budget and pay the nation’s bills.”

Boehner's response should have been, Well, Mr. President, we did pass a CR to keep the government operating at this time. Please call Sen. Harry Reid and tell him about it. Good night and have a nice weekend. Click.

So the government shuts down.

It happened in 1995, and somehow we survived.

Well let’s see now, who is he not going to be allowed to receive their pay checks: those on Social Security, Retired Military, Active Duty Military, the disabled, retired fed workers, post office employees, other gov employees. But you can bet that the homeless, illegals, funding for Islumic terrorists weapons, Obama phone, etc. will continue.

Congress did its job and did just that. It's the Senate and POSUS that are shutting down the government.

How come nobody is playing on the air again and again just how uncooperative and non-compromising Obama is being?

He wants absolute everything for himself or its somehow our fought if we won’t give it to him? Obama doesn’t even want to work for it! Obama wants us to create all his bills and do all his work for him.

The last time this “budget battle” went on, weren't there promises to reduce government spending so as NOT to have to continue to increase the debt limit (something Senator Obama said was "un-American)??? Maybe if Obama and Mooch reined in their OWN unlimited spending on all their vacations and he stopped sending taxpayer money to terrorist groups, we wouldn't HAVE to keep raising the limit!
