FULL TITLE - "DC Capitol SWAT Team That Was Ordered NOT To Neutralize Navy Yard Shooter STILL Not Debriefed, And PD Removes Leader Without Explanation"
On Wednesday, BBC News reported the indefensible discovery that the D.C. Capitol Police’s SWAT team was ready to neutralize the Navy Yard mass shooting. But, the highly trained and heavily armed, elite tactical group was, instead, ordered to stand down and leave the scene. The Capitol Police promised a full investigation. Today, BBC News reported more disturbing information. No one has talked to the SWAT team members. Not even for the protocol debriefing. But, not only have members of the SWAT team not been contacted, the department “has installed a new leader”. Without explanation.
BBC News reports,
Members of a Washington DC Swat team who the BBC has learned were ordered not to respond to Monday’s Navy Yard shootings have yet to be contacted by the authorities.
The Capitol Police tactical response team was told by a supervisor to leave the scene instead of aiding municipal officers, sources told the BBC.
Meanwhile, the department has installed a new leader of the elite unit. No reason has been given for the decision.
Gunman Aaron Alexis killed 12 people.
The BBC has also learned that four members of the highly trained team have applied for temporary leave, as they “grapple” with the aftermath of the incident.
The Capitol Police department has not yet granted the request, nor given approval for them to use their own paid time off.
Command shake-up Days after the shooting, none of the officers has been questioned by officials or investigators from a special panel that was convened on Wednesday.
Members of the Containment and Emergency Response Team (Cert) are typically debriefed “right away, at the very least the following day” after an incident, a Capitol Police source said.
“[They] haven’t even been given the courtesy of a debrief… They have not even been given an answer as to why the decision was made that they should not respond,” the source added.
Another Capitol Police source close to the incident told the BBC: “No-one’s talked to these officers since this happened.”

Actually raising the debt limit will not increase the nation’s debt. That much is technically true but as I have often said the worst liars are the ones who know how to put a lie across while technically telling the truth. The nation’s debt will be whatever it is with or without the “debt limit”. They find ways to violate the debt limit already without admitting it. Why would people who are not bound in any way by the constitution be bound by a debt limit?

Re: the Conn. shooting...
I saw a documentary on TV recently that showed how the police surrounded the house and then waited, even before the house was torched. I think at least some of the victims were still alive at that point. Horrendous. Every time i think of that case, i get mad at gun-control fanatics. If the man had a stashed firearm down in the basement and knew how to use it, the ending would’ve been completely different.
Some on the scene reported the girls were repeatedly raped, screamed for help while police just sat on their perimeter!

“What did I miss?” In this case one of the things that’s missing is complete info on the team that was ordered to stand down. All the reporting so far assumes that this team was highly qualified, well equipped und so vieter. But were they ex military? I can only speak for my own Marines but no one, repeat NO ONE, is going to back off or stand down in the face of an obvious life threatening situation. And no dumbass on the phone /radio is going to get a response when a dispatcher is shooting his mouth off to retreat. Phones have a way of going dead when the SHTF’s.
Maybe this team were newbies? Maybe they weren’t really loaded for bear? But if they left someone to die because of a voice on a phone then they need to be fired, prosecuted, dis-armed, shamed and otherwise gotten the hell out of any position of responsibility.

The diversion idea came up right away but never really washed. By all accounts the team in question was “Capitol Security” but they were AT THE NAVY YARD which is a mile and a half from the Capitol. No one has said what their normal patrol might be but I’m guessing their normal job would not be to patrol for the US NAVY. If something had developed close to the Capitol these guys would have been useless for quite a few minutes. And I never heard yet whether they even had their own vehicle. I suppose they did but they might have been at a fixed post. And we’d like to know whether they actually got directed to the Capitol-—or to just go get lunch.

Can’t think of one major Obama official who hasn’t lied, even under oath about the IRS, Benghazi, Fast & Furious, the ammunition buying, amnesty, plans to destroy the economy, plans to brainwash our kids in school, the real effects of Michelle’s school lunch menu fiasco, etc.

I will point this out...having lived in DC for a couple of years. There is a tremendous amount of competition and distrust among all of the various law enforcement ‘players’. The police of the District....not the capital police...have a chief that almost all of the top members hate and dislike....mostly because she was recruited and hired from outside of the city system. Any emergency? There’s at least a dozen different law enforcement folks who show up, and each claiming to be in charge of the situation.
Two years ago, Homeland Security woke up and realized that they had an entire building of folks who had authorized each and everyone of themselves....a leased car. The pitch to get the car was that each would show up at some emergency quickly. Course, you can imagine four hundred folks driving to some episode, and each having to search for hours and hours....a parking spot.
It’s a comedy event to watch any emergency occur in DC, and how everyone claims they are there to save the residents...but fight over control and get full credit in the end.
