Skip to comments.Sen. Lindsey Graham to seek authorization for U.S. attack on Iran

Sen. Lindsey Graham is one of the strongest advocates of an American military strike against the Assad regime in Syria. He was unhappy when President Obama decided to seek congressional authorization for an attack, and then unhappy when his fellow lawmakers voiced disapproval of the president's plan. Graham believes the diplomatic path chosen by the administration will lead to a debacle.
Given all that, Graham now says he will work with a bipartisan group of senators to craft a resolution authorizing the president to use military force -- not against the Syrian regime but against Iran. In an appearance on Fox News' Huckabee program over the weekend, Graham argued that such a resolution is essential, because American inaction in Syria will encourage Iran to go forward with its nuclear weapon program, eventually leading toward a Mideast conflagration if the U.S. doesn't intervene.

Think about it...
This subject keeps him and McCain in the news carrying Obama's water ( what does he have on these two ) to keep them from doing what should be their real job and main focus, i.e. stoping Obamacare. In the process they have show a fractured un-unified GOP which is what Obama needs. Facilitators of darn near evil? One has to ask that IMHO..
This is what happens when you let lawyers think theyre soldiers.
DING!! We have a winner!!!
People in SC still swear Lindsey in a “conservative”. I believe the people there like all the publicity he brings them; just like the hapless Arizonans with McPain.
When your enemy is digging a hole, give him a shovel.
Hey lindsey - bomb Iran ... where? The weapons and research facilitiates are buried deep underground beneath tons of sand and rock. How would you ever know if it was successful? Its not as simple as just lobbing some bombs on these countries.
Lindsey Graham is a nut case....
Whats gives with these freaks? All of a sudden they want to start a war with every country in the middle east.
His biggest new fans will be Bombs Away McCain and Chickenhawk Hannity.
I think Democrats and Independents will save him unfortunately.
What’s this guy been smoking? Granted, I hate the leadership in Iran as much as the next person, but come on, now he’s advocating an all out regional war in the Middle East.
He got a big old donation from some hawks and needs to implement his “marching orders”.
Note to Lindsley. You are an ( 0 ) - Another war, expending blood and treasure alone as world policeman. AYOOYFM? We’re broke.
We need “boobs on the ground”- send Goober .
I digress but I wrote about this years ago. Those underground facilities are just post holes and root cellars if they don’t have large quantities of electricity. Since they love the twelfth century so much the fastest way for them to get there would be to take out their electric generation. No electric-—no nuclear program-—nothing. Then we could watch them scramble and see what is really important to them.
he’s in trouble in the next primary he faces and he’s trying to score “bonus” points as if to say “my policy on Iran is bigger than yours” - for what, has Iran attacked the U.S.???
I am beginning to wonder. McCain was willing to get us into it with Russia over Georgia (and Georgia was the bad guy)!
When you hear these guys and their dwindling neocon supporters saying we need to bomb Syria so we will be respected / feared, you're hearing insanity. Grownups can't possibly think that. Are these guys subject to serious security clearances?
