Harry Reid: 'We don't have votes' for gun control bill

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Tuesday vowed to move forward with legislation to expand background checks for gun buyers but said he doesn't have enough support yet to hold a vote.

The Nevada Democrat said in light of the fatal shootings at the Washington Navy Yard Monday that killed 13, including the accused shooter, "we're going to move this [legislation] up as quickly as we can."

But he quickly added he only will bring the matter to the Senate floor when he has the 60 votes likely needed to pass the measure, a move he said isn't plausible in the near future.

"We don't have the votes," he said. "I hope we get them, but we don't have them now."

Dingy's been bitch-slapped too many times on the issue? Maybe, maybe not. He still isn't a very trustworthy little runt.

“COURIC to Obama: Describe a situation when you think it’s appropriate to lie to the American people.

Obama: I don’t think it’s appropriate to lie to the American people. I mean—you can—you can put together a hypothetical where—there is a national security emergency that is imminent. And you don’t want to provide, for example, the location of our troops. You don’t have to lie in those situations. You simply say—we’re not answering questions. I don’t think it’s appropriate to lie. And I think that one of the things I want to change about the culture of Washington is, not just the big lie, but also the soft lie. The fudging, the manipulation, the spin. If we can restore a sense of trust between the American people and the government, we’re going to go a long way to changing the country for the better.”

Harry Reid is a tick and he has been sucking the blood of Americans for years.

I sure would like to see the Republicans win the senate , just to watch old Harry tossed out of his office.

Wouldn't have anything to do with the CO recall, would it?

Maybe Reid didn't get the message, but maybe other Dem Senators did?

...which means the MOMENT they have the votes to destroy the Second Amendment, they’ll do it.

And don’t for one second think the Supreme Court will stop them.

And/or a couple of wobbly RINO's. I think they picked up two or three last time.

Some representatives of the Democratic [sic] party are smart enough to read the handwriting on the wall if it's printed at very large size.

Reid: “We’re going to do this quickly, but it will take an indefinite amount of time to bring it to a vote.”

Sounds like it might actually mean something, but really doesn’t.
