Thank former scuzzy-dent klintoon for that from an executive order disallowing armed individuals on military bases.

Thanks for the post

Never thought I would see- AR15 SHOTGUN!!

it would be very comical- if not for their trying to take
away our rights (just happen to be focusing on the 2nd
amendment today)- will get to the others later this week.

To be fair, there actually is a shotgun which is patterned after the AR-15: the MKA 1919, a 12 gauge shotgun currently being imported from Turkey:

(not that I think that's what was being referred to in this case, mind you)

The only “security” is the bluff job they present to the civilian world who occasionally pass a scary looking military gate. But if you are a recent veteran (like he was) then you know that as long as you have the car sticker and ID you are going to be waved in with no search 99.9% of the time. It’s automatic. He could have brought in an RPG. The only military pers on base permitted to have loaded firearms are the actual MPs and civilian security guards, who are spread very thin, mostly operating the front gate. Once inside, you have an unarmed human shooting range, until the uniformed security hails into sight.

I own one of these shotguns. The layout and operating controls are indeed similar to the AR-15, with the exception of a bolt mounted operating handle on the right side, but the internal mechanics and operating system are more akin to to a Remington 1100 semi auto shotgun than an AR-15. I have two 10 round mags and two 5 round mags and the thing is as smooth as butter and really puts pellets down range FAST!!

I didn't know they made 10 round mags for that...I thought there were only 5 rounders.

I recently picked a VEPR 12, right before the magazine ban in Colorado went into effect. No shotgun magazine of more than 8 rounds can now be (legally) sold or transferred in Colorado, so I made sure to picked up some 12 round magazines before the law kicked in.
