And yet, universally, one will hear Quan Yin is the Goddess of Compassion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guan_Yin . And their Bodhisatvas http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodhisattva seem to be something like Saints.

As many Buddhist so-called deities are portrayed in art. Even attributed to saving people’s lives.

Alexis traveled to Thailand , according to an interview with the Happy Bowl Restaurant owner. He was there for an extended time. She wondered when he would return. That absence and what happened there could be significant....

Actually Buddhism is non-theistic, it is neither atheistic or theistic. That is why ot is called the “Middle Way.”
The Buddha was silent about the question of god/no god.He simply instructed human beings in the pracrtice of meditation, called Shamatha..resting the mind in peace, and how to walk the 8 fold path, using the 4 noble truths as a foundation. He told people to work diligently for their own salvation.)

If you want to practice meditation, there is no necessity to abandon your religious beliefs. For one to become “Buddhist” one must find a preceptor who has recieved the ability from ancient times from mouth to ear in a continuous lineage, and request refuge in the Three Jewels: The Buddha, the dharma ( teachings) and the sangha ( the community of practitioners). This means one should not seek refuge from Impermanence anywhere else.

The fundamentals of Buddhism are not well known in America, but there is no evangelical initiative or conversion process
in Buddhism.People come to it on their own as a result of karma.

The Buddhist Assassin may of may not have been Buddhist. In any event he was very confused and it seems that Buddhism had not really clarified his confusion at all, as it could have.I do not know why this is. Our Buddhist Asassin was perhaps a cultural Buddhist, caught by the cultural trappings of Thailand, but not the meditation practices themselves.Perhaps latter the facts will come out to reveal more.

The old media is doing this simply doing this to make all faith systems “equal”.

Its an historical trend. The Islamofascists over the centuries have created many martial societies, including the Knights Templar, and indeed others such as the Sikhs.
And so it is with many Buddhist cultures. The Buddhists were exterminated from Afghanistan.

Thank you for the link. Here in exchange is a Buddhist one about one of the Greatest Buddhist warriors who ever lived, Gesar of Ling, sung in Tibetan:

Media is just trying to trash Buddhists in an attempt to show that “they all do it” to give cover to Muslims being such hotheads and animals.

NAILED IT

Why would a muslim call the police to report persistent voices through the floor, ceiling and walls, following him to three different hotels in one night?

Just because someone is moslem is no reason to rule out that they are also insane. In fact, after reading the koran I am certain that all moslems have some degree of insanity in them.

Divert attention from Muslims by implicating Buddhism. Its like pointing out when a Christian commits an awful crime..

Buddhists are by far some of the most pacifist people I have ever known, its actually annoying.

The most common buddhists I've come into contact with are the protagonists in all those dreadfull 1970's kung fu films set in some mythical chinese past where a heroic underdog with lip sync problems turns someone into four tins of cat food every other minute for no discernable reason.

Peaceful or what?

The only Buddhist I knew to any extent, was an excellent cook, even though she didn’t use bacon grease (an important ingredient here in Tennessee). But the hot peppers! Oh, mama!

I wouldn't argue with that.

But my point was really about how the US media handles Islam. If a Muslim goes wild and shoots a bunch of people, the refrain is always "Islam is a religion of peace" and "One crazy person should not reflect badly on an entire religion". But here we see the US media handling a Buddhist who went wild: "Well, it's a violent religion, you know."

I'm not focusing on Buddhism.
Heck, I'm not even focusing on Islam.
I'm focusing on the fact that the US media lies to us and tries to help our enemies infiltrate our society and do damage and escape blame because the media covers for them.

Guess what religion the Japanese were when they invaded China and killed hundreds of thousands of people? Attacked Pearl Harbor and sent suicide airplane pilots to their death in the Pacific War?

I have been hearing that southern Thailand has been having fighting going on between Muslims and Buddhists.

The Muslims have been killing Buddhists in Southern Thailand since the early 1960s that I know of personally. I'm sure it's been going on longer than that.
