Fox News announces its prime-time lineup, starting Mon., Oct. 7: Greta Van Susteren moves to 7 p.m., Bill O'Reilly stays at 8, Megyn Kelly's "The Kelly File" is at 9 and Sean Hannity moves to 10 p.m. Here is the release:

FOX News Channel (FNC) will unveil its new prime time lineup on Monday, October 7th, marking the 17th anniversary of the network, announced Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO, FOX News.

Greta Van Susteren will officially kick-off the new line-up with her signature On the Record with Greta Van Susteren at 7PM/ET. From there, Bill O’Reilly will continue hosting the most-watched cable news program The O’Reilly Factor at 8PM/ET. At 9PM/ET, Megyn Kelly will debut The Kelly File while Sean Hannity will take over the 10PM/ET timeslot with Hannity for his solo hour. Chief News Anchor and Managing Editor Shepard Smith will be available throughout to insert the latest breaking news into the new programming schedule via the FOX News Deck.

Now live at 7PM/ET weeknights, On the Record will showcase the news Americans care about and explore how they impact our everyday lives. Van Susteren will bring viewers the latest facts through interviews with high profile newsmakers in her tough and fair signature style as well as on the scene reporting. The program’s popular blog, Gretawire.com will enable her to continue delivering updates at any given time via live stream technology.

Marking her 9PM/ET debut after The Factor, anchor Megyn Kelly said, “In 2003, I was an unhappy lawyer, and made a decision to change my life. Ten years later, I've been able to do that thanks in large part to Roger Ailes, a boss who always gives me the same directive: ‘Be yourself and have fun.’ What a great job. I am very grateful.”

Let’s all just hope there’s never ANY “breaking news”.

I used to miss Hannity’s show before. Shame I’ll miss Megyn’s new slot now.

Ditto’s. That’s what I like about the new line-up - Shep Smith doesn’t have a show. To bad Shep.

Low quality conservo-celebs for a low information pseudo-conservative audience.

Makes sense, I think Greta will grow her audience in this time slot, she’s still the best at doing actual “journalism” rather than pandering or bloviating. Hannity is forgettable at any time slot, and it will be interesting to see what “Miss Megan” does with the opportunity.

As long as there’s no Shep, it’s good.

In some NYC bank vault, Smith must have a deposit box that contains a compromising picture of Roger Ailes.

It's the only explanation.

Greta’s the coolest person on TV. Sorry I’ll usually have to miss her show.

I had hoped to see Sarah in a more prominent position by now. First they ‘set her free’, then they call her back, but for what? Maybe so no other station would put her on contract. I rarely see her on the air. Maybe she and most guest speakers are on via anchor invitation only, and Sean Hannity or Greta are the only one’s now giving her an invite.

Sarah may not want the tight discipline and plastic diplomacy that goes with being a full out news anchor. There would be a lot she couldn’t say without (Ailes fear of negative blow back. Sarah’s talents may be better suited for the lecture circuit until she’s ready to run for the senate. I keep coming up with scenarios where she could be serving in office, but no one knows the pure hell she went through being slammed in the press for so long, and with her own side almost leaving her to twist on the line. I cannot even imagine going through that hot white fire, day after day, then come out smiling.

The cultist is indeed a great actor -- typical for those Christ-denying Scientologists. Her nightly interviewing auditing of her guests is a real treat.

Greta’s my fave, too.

Regarding Shep? I had a perverse compulsion to watch Howard Cosell years ago. Didn’t care for him, but I felt compelled to watch. He intrigued me. Same with Shepard Smith. Guess I’m rather weird........and old.

I think Kelly’s going to astound everybody here. I think she’s a great interviewer, far better than Sean Hannity, who doesn’t understand the notion of “follow-up” question.

Think "train wreck." Could you look away? Not me.

Yes, she’s good at the iron-fist follow up, but loses impact by forgetting to wrap it in a velvet-glove delivery.
