I have read 3 articles that swore by the AR15, and one that claimed it was the weapon with which he did all the damage.

We need a way for Free Republic to go viral on stuff like this.

I recommend a county-by-county anti-gun-grabbers, well-written, informative alert freepmail/flyer to individual freepers. They will be requested to forward that message to their entire email list(s).

State-by-state and county-by-county (or parish), there are only 3141 in the USA. We could blanket the USA in a matter of hours, and maybe some of it would even go viral.

I wonder how many counties (parishes) are represented on FR? Most probably.

Lying propaganda is exactly right. They are not stupid. Their audience is, and they know it. So, if they report on a weapon described as "an AR-15 shotgun, that uses armor piercing bullets in a 150 round clip, that can shoot clean through an elementary school and the police officer in body armor standing on the other side... ", their audience will indeed believe it. After all, CNN sold them "Hope and Change" brought by an Afro-Marxist Kenyan. Twice. Why not an "AR-15 shotgun"?

Now we know the real reason for 24/7 coverage of these events. While the low info people are tuned in the media can tell them whatever they want. Later, when the low info people are long gone and the real facts come out it's too late.

If the media are criticized for how they initially reported they simply claim that, among all the confusion, they were reporting the facts as them knew them.

Shooter victim tally:

Twelve (victims murdered)

Race of all victims:WHITE

Race of shooter: BLACK

Friends of Navy Yard gunman describe him as a 'hardcore drinker' who spent hours playing violent shooting video games

Aaron Alexis, 34, converted to Buddhism and liked to meditate but also had marathon sessions playing violent video games

Shooter was being treated for serious mental illness and had been 'hearing voices'

His friend and employer said he once appeared at work with a gun tucked into his waistband

Another friend said Alexis had complained of racial discrimination

Alexis was kicked out of the Navy in 2011 after arrest for firing a gun into neighbor's apartment in Fort Worth, Texas

Another thing ‘FBI Washington field office’ also needs to clarify in the days to come is this -

Exactly how many were shot and killed by the shotgun, and how many were killed by the pistols.

btw, Shouldn't that give us even more ‘incentives’ to possess an AR-15, rather than a pistol, when facing a shotgun wielding lunatic?

Most likely the newly banned M1 Garand, WWII military assault rifle, with the high capacity 8 round clip, which was responsible for killing hundreds of thousands of freedom loving people exerting their right to support their democratically elected governments of Germany and Italy, as well as those peaceful servants of the Emperor of Japan.

We'll hear he had 10 AR-15's in his garage, 3 in his trunk and 25 in a storage locker.

I'd like to know if he was on meds...

Di-Fi is disappointed.

No she isn't. The AR15 story got out there, it doesn't matter it's false. The grabbers will ignore this clarification, they always do. They'll be hollering about this for weeks to come.

Let us always remember, Democratic President, Bill Clinton, disarmed our military personnel on bases (except for MPs) in March 1993 in one of his first Presidential acts. Since that time, it has been like shooting fish in a barrel. Repeal this asinine edict.

It would be interesting to note if there was an intentional selection of victims by race.
This would have to be gleaned from witnesses present during the shooting.

The names of seven out of the 12 people killed in the shooting at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday have been released.

The Washington Post reports that police have confirmed the identities of those individuals as:

Michael Arnold, 59.

Sylvia Frasier, 53.

Kathy Gaarde, 62.

John Roger Johnson, 73.

Frank Kohler, 50.

Bernard Proctor, 46.

Vishnu Pandit, 61.

The suspected gunman, 34-year-old Aaron Alexis, was also killed at the scene.

The remaining names will be released once families are notified, KTLA reported.

All of the victims killed were civilians or contractors, according to CNN.

Multiple people were also injured in the shooting. A Navy announcement Monday afternoon put the number of those wounded at 14, DC Mayor Vince Gray said at a 10:15 press conference that only eight were injured in total.

I suspect “Vishnu Pandit” is not your typical redneck of European descent.

The media uses the words “destroyer” and “battleship” interchangeably to mean “warship”. I doubt that even half the people at CNN know the difference between a shotgun and rifle, and to which class, if either, the AR-15 belongs. All they know is that guns are scary and the Navy has boats that shoot things.

They [the left] really have a fear of the AR-15 -
which means it is the rifle whose ownership we must most protect.

I'd wait on the AR-15 thing. It will take a while for the Gov't to get their narrative down.

As of now, CNN says no AR was used. It's not like CNN is the most accurate mockingbird out there.

Good point, military personnel on a base mostly unarmed relying on civilian cops from protection, about as asinine as it gets.

Have regular and irregular patrols of MPs and make sure carefully selected officers (No *Mohammad* types) carry sidearms at all times.

This clown wouldn't have gotten far.

No, the FBI says NO AR-15 was used.

Well, an M-16 is not an AR-15. Could it be that the FBI is being cute, here?

On the other hand, elsewhere I have seen it that he had a shotgun and two pistols he took from his victims.
