Obama Dares Republicans to Defy Tea Party on Obamacare, Shutdown Deal
National Journal (excerpt - click for article) ^ | Sept 16, 2013 | By Patrick Reis

Posted on 09/16/2013 11:26:04 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

President Obama took a swipe at the Hard Right on Monday, accusing tea-party-aligned House Republicans of gambling with the nation's economy by threatening to shut down the government unless Obamacare is defunded.

In a sprawling economic speech, Obama called on Congress to avert a government shutdown by passing a budget, and he insisted he would brook no wrangling over a raise in the debt ceiling. Obama said such a shutdown, or even the possibility of default, would damage the still-fragile economic recovery.

Specifically, the president went after Republicans who say they won't vote for any budget deal that does not nullify the Affordable Care Act. "I cannot remember a time when one faction of one party promises economic chaos if it can't get 100 percent of what it wants," Obama said. "That's never happened before, and that's what happening right now."

Obama appealed to the rest of the Republican Party for help in brokering a budget compromise, challenging members to break with those calling for defunding Obamacare.

"Are some of these folks so beholden to one extreme wing of their party that they're willing to tank our whole economy?" he said. "Are they willing to hurt people?"

“It is nice to be a liberal where you get to make your own reality and get to live there for as long as you want.”

EXACTLY, just ask the Union thugs who supported Obamacare and who are now crying foul that they have not been exempted from it like Congress did!

Well, no doubt IF Republicans did control BOTH houses of Congress AND did control the VETO pen, the Republicans COULD repeal Obamacare.

But we don’t....

And so we find Democrats lusting for a kamekazi-style attack on “government” by Tea Party Republicans BEFORE the next election.

They think that, after a Democrat landslide in that election (triggered by people whose SSA and military paychecks were “shut-down by Republicans”), Obama can use his new majority in the House to accelerate his plan for the destruction of America.

Why does the Tea Party seem to think that a “government shut-down” would NOT shut-down the GOP?

The Tea Party Americans thought the same in Colorado, until they took their government by the neck and booted out two (2) of the most prominent liberal socialist who supported gun control in their State!

Americans can do the same in Washington, support is needed by the Tea Party members in Congress from every American!!

Failure is not an option!

The beltway GOP can’t even find the courage to shove the kenyans own sorry record in his face. They won’t reply to the constant attacks on GOP conservatives or vigorously debate issues like obamacare. One cheese eating surrender party and after another from those GOP leadership losers. They simply can’t win if they refuse to engage the rampaging Demoviks.

Okay, but will he have time to give at least a shout out to the latest victims of “workplace violence” in DC today?

Dream on. There wasn’t one thing the last GOP President rammed through Congress when the GOP had complete control. The GOP “could” do a lot but never do. That’s the crux of the problem right there. Dems fight to win. The GOP does the bidding of their big money donors. Guess who is winning?

The TEA Party should publicly dare the Repubs to defy Obama and send him a funding bill that does not fund Obamacare, and dare him to shut down the government by not signing it. All good conservative Repubs should talk that line in unison, force the media to cover it.

The "news" media, of course, will go with their selected boy-king wannabe's meme, but still, get the word out that Obama would shut down the government by not signing the bill.

“Why does the Tea Party seem to think that a “government shut-down” would NOT shut-down the GOP?”

First and foremost, there is NO such thing as a “Tea Party.” When you speak about the Tea Party, you are actually talking about the American people at large!

Second, this time around (not shutting down the government) defunding Obamacare is supported by the majority of Americans all across this Nation!

Third and finally, the government shuts down at 5:00 P.M. every day, and on Saturday and Sundays, including all holidays! The American people (Tea Party) helped the GOP (conservatives) take the US House in 2010 for the specific purpose of blocking and STOPPING Obama’s policies in their tracks! Every GOP candidate ran on the platform of “defunding Obamacare” and getting rid of the law. Now that they have a chance of de-funding the law, the GOPe is getting cold feet, attacking the conservatives within the party who are actively living up to their promises to the American people who elected them to office. The GOPe had better take notice of what happens to elected officials who do not listen to their constituency, exactly what happened in Colorado and two (2) socialist lost their jobs!

Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Mike Lee are listening to the voice of the American people and are standing up to this out of control US Government by negotiating a budget deal that simply does not include the funding of Obamacare on behalf of the American people (Tea Party) PERIOD!!

NOBODY HAS SAID "SHUT THE GUBMENT DOWN" EXCEPT THE DEMOCRATS.

Cruz, and others, have said, fund the gubment, but not Obamacare. And, if you don't defund Obamacare and the gubment shuts down, it's the democrats fault!

It doesn’t matter what conservatives do if the GOP leadership won’t fight the kenyancare battle. The GOP will get steamrolled by the Dems/MSM and will lose the messaging. Boehner knows that and that is the rason for his do nothing, run out the CR clock strategy.

He is playing chicken with us knowing that he can always pass a Senate CR and blame conservatives for a bad deal.

Yeah, it is difficult when you get pilloried by the “news” media for standing up to them (and their Dem handlers). Anyone who goes against the Zero King and his merry band of court jesters is given the Joe-the-plumber treatment. It takes someone of great courage to stand against them. Too few Repubs have that courage.

Given the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, a shutdown would arguably be a major blunt step to restoring the constitutional republic envisioned by the Founding States.

What a stupid POS he is! He is totally ignoring last Wednesday, and THAT, my dear Zero, will result in many surprises in the near future.

If You can’t control 1.5 M bikers, what chance have you got to control a paltry few hangers-on in Congress?

He is SUCH a STUPID shit!

Go AMERICA!!!!

Do NOT forget the Patriot Bikers! They are ready to go where they are needed, even though the LameStreamMedia made no mention of them on 9-11-13.

The Sleeping Dragon has awakened, and if Barry is smart, he will smell the cordite and see the fire long before it every hits the halls of government.

His days of hiding things from the American People are OVER!
