Florida officials have arrested radical anti-Islam preacher Terry Jones as he was on his way to a Sept. 11 event where he planned to burn 2,998 Korans, according to local news reports Wednesday. Jones is best known for stoking Muslim anger by publicly desecrating the religion´s holy book, sometimes with international consequences. This time law enforcement officials intervened before Jones could carry out his plans for a ceremonial Sept. 11 burning. Jones had planned to set alight 2,998 Korans at a Polk County park for the 12-year anniversary, with each Koran "representing one of the victims, every person who was

at a Polk County park

If it was on private property, as opposed to a county park, if there's no burn ban in place, I would think it would be fine.

It seems excessive. Maybe if he only burned one since it was a statement. They probably will get him on some safety regulation that he broke. With all the forest fires going on they probably could get him on possibly trying to start a fire or something. Don’t put it past them to ignore the Korans and get him on something else.

Yeah, would it be okay to burn the Book of Mormon? Or the King James version of the Bible or the Torah, or the Comunist Manifesto of Karl Marx. WHY does the government feel compelled to protect the Koran.. If he legally acquired them, why couldn’t he burn them?

If he had 2,298 kerosene soaked US flags, it would have been AOK.

A local kid went on a drunken binge and burnt his neighbors flag.

Turns out that Indiana has a law against flag desecration so that was one of the many charges he now faces

I know you already know the answer, we all do,.... because it would be a hate crime against Muslims. It is okay to mock, hate and denigrate Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, hell any other religion on earth but Zero is the hero of muslims and will not tolerate it.

From a different article:

“The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jones on felony charges of unlawful conveyance of fuel and open display of a firearm.”

Seems like a pretty dumb gesture. He had to pay for all of those korans (I am assuming he didn't steal them - since God said 'Thou shalt not steal'). Therefore he would have given money (again, assuming the books were sold for a profit) to some islam supporting organization. Said organization prints more copies of their crazy book, or diverts some of the profits for some nefarious activities...

Just dumb. Just preach Preacher man.
