'2 Million Bikers' to roll into D.C. on 9/11 in protest of Million Muslim March
The Examiner ^ | 09/11/2013 | Linsey Bald

The “2 Million Bikers to D.C.” rally, which likely will be closer to two thousand, will bring a deputation of bikers into Washington today who plan to pay their respects to the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. Originally denied a permit, D.C. police have now granted permission for the biker’s ride, reports UPI on Sept. 11.

Social media was abuzz with outrage that these patriotic riders were denied a permit. The 2 Million Bikers to D.C. requested permission to have a police escort, with no-stop authority granted at red lights and intersections.

Police have now said the ride is permissible, though the bikers will not have the benefit of an escort and are expected to follow all traffic controls.

The Washington National Park Service and D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department both refused to grant permits, saying the influx of bikers would be too disruptive to traffic on a work day, and that such permits are generally granted for weekend biker rallies.

The biker’s ride is a counter protest to the “Million Muslim March,” a protest group organized by the American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC). The group was granted a permit to hold their demonstration at the National Mall.

“AMPAC, a fringe group led by Rabbi Alam, a known 9/11 truther who has espoused anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about the New York attacks, said in a statement that the event was designed to reveal the ‘truth’ about 9/11 and highlight the ‘media propaganda’ that has made the word terrorist ‘synonymous with Muslim,’” reports the Huffington Post.

Initially announced earlier this year, the Million Muslim March sparked anger over the chosen date of September 11. Subsequently renamed the “Million American March Against Fear,” the protest has lost some traction.

I don't know if it will be accurate, but I've seen predictions of 5,000 Muslims and 50,000 bikers. We'll see.

I'll bet there won't be more than a couple hundred Muslims. This is a fringe group and the other muslim organizations like CAIR and ISNA are distancing themselves as much as they can, not even mentioning it on their sites . Interestingly, though, a Pennsylvania Tea Party group has allied itself with the muslims and are supposed to show.

As I recall (haven’t been on a bike in a while) the idea is to NOT crash.

"Ditto. I’d need a crash class on riding a motorcycle."

You might want to rephrase that question a little bit.

This is a bust. According to The Blaze, they’re not even venturing inside the beltway:

According to local outlet WTOP-RADIO, it appears the bikers may not be actually entering the capital as a massive group.

They reportedly will not go into D.C. as a large group.

“There are so many motorcycles that trying to go through Washington, D.C., would not have worked,” Eric Zern, a ride organizer from Hagerstown, MD, told the station.

Instead, the station says the group will travel one time on the Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway from Prince George’s County to Montgomery County and then into Virginia. They’ll then return to where they started, the Harley Davidson story in Fort Washington, MD.

However, individual riders can decide if they’d like to divert themselves into D.C.

Last week Chris Phillips, the organizer of the "Million Muslim March", refused to condemn hateful groups like the Muslim Brotherhood while arguing the U.S. government has been hateful toward Muslim-Americans since 9/11/2001.

Didn’t see any police notice that MUSLIM CRIMINALS will be arrested.

Why’d “you” single out the bikers, you profiling bigots?!

Outrageous!! Not surprising, though, considering the source.

Yes, they have.

Don’t venture on the bigger thread though. You’re a negative nellie if you tell the truth.

This will have even less effect than the huge Tea Party rally (on a Saturday). Obamacare starts next month.

This sort of bowing down and backing off only serves to embolden them.

This should have been like a French truckers strike. Drive in, shut ‘em down and wait the elites out.

That is quite true. Meanwhile, I have the Washington Monument webcam up, and I'm not seeing *anybody* by the Mall.

That is mighty Christian of them, since, until DC has checkpoints at all entrances and exits, There is not any authority whatsoever to prevent the free flow of traffic into and out of DC!
Unless they declare a state of emergency. Allow all traffic or no traffic. Muslims included.

Neither DC police nor anyone else I am aware of has the authority to pick and choose who may or may not enter the National Capital.

Really? The estimate is only for two thousand bikers to attend?

No no no!
Consider the source and just wait for more disciplined, experienced and impartial sources.
