I don’t know what is going on. Obama still seems to be looking for permission. Bohner should hold the vote on Thursday. He won’t. He wants any excuse to save Obama politically.
Kabuki. Now that he and Kerry have glommed onto Putin’s proposal, he could care less about the vote. If a resounding no, he’ll say his ‘people have spoken’ and he will rigorously assure that Assad’s WMDs are properly secured. A win-win for him, a win-win now that McCain, Alexander, Graham, Chambliss et al can play ‘conservative’ now.
Meanwhile, no one suspects that Obama’s idea of ‘securing the chemical weapons’ means that they will be secreted in the next country-of-Obama-MB-incursion........guess? JORDAN!....We shall see a 2014 election season eave being consumed with a ‘rebel uprising in Jordan’ etc. and redux this whole mess.
