HARDH, Yemen, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- An 8-year-old Yemeni girl died from internal injuries on the first night of her marriage to a man more than five times her age, Kuwaiti daily Al Watan reported.
The girl, identified only by the name Rawan, died in Hardh in the governorate of Hajjah in northwestern Yemen, the newspaper reported Sunday.
She died after suffering a tear to her genitals and severe bleeding, Gulf News reported.
Yemeni and Kuwaiti activists have called for police to arrest the girl's husband and family and to put an end to the practice of marrying young girls, Gulf News said.
"Her family and her groom could have waited for some time before having this marriage," wrote on blogger, who goes by the name "Sad." "It was not fair at all and the marriage should not have happened even if some tribes believe that it is a good custom."

I’m amazed this even makes the news at all.
Unfortunately, an untold story is the constant flow of girls from Western countries back home where they are “honor killed.” Outside of US law, and the Western consciousness, there are girls that are shipped home and murdered because they shamed their family.
These are the type, to use the term loosely, people that Obama, his worshipers, his voters, and the Democrat Party support
In my opinion, if they are girls they are. The evidence and facts speak for themselves.
We might be shocked to learn that child “marriage” also happens in large Muslim enclaves in Western countries and even the US. Ditto for Female Genital Mutilation.
Oh, dear God.
Give the U.S. 20 years and the Left will have succeeded in lowering the age of consent down to similar levels. It will be considered a human rights issue and if you disagree with adults marrying children you will be branded a bigot.
But we’re a multicultural society....who are we to judge?

Obama pointedly met with people like this when he was in St. Petersburg. Some Russian "Youth Human Rights" group (I can't remember the exact name) which advocates for the sexual "rights" of LGBT minor children.
The sole means of social organization is Islam itself, not a rule of law, democratic process, free market etc. Islam does not practice inclusiveness, a new buzz word in America. Islam is the sole means of organizing and running a society and you have rules and positions such as a Mufti (religious based judge), Madras (religious based school), Imam (cleric - but also the primary window to the outside world)... Islam commands strict adherence with prayers, diet, dress, etc. The difference between Western self proclaimed Christians and Muslims is the most Christians simply culturally identify themselves as such, while Muslims really live their religion. Most secular Western Christians really can't even understand nor accept that they are in the midst of a religious war, may that be in Bosnia, Sudan, Israel, the terrorist attacks in the US (WTC I, II, Ft Hood, attacks on recruiting stations..., Abu Saaef in the Philippines, Syria, Egypt, Libya, USS Cole, Kohbar Towers, Lebanon... To the average Westerner, the idea of this being a conflict between two paradigms is near incomprehensible although the real antagonists such as Iran, Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, Hezbollah, AQ in the past and a plethora of other groups make no secret of this. It is comical to see how in the West we try to redefine things to make them appear as something other than what they are, acts of workplace violence, misunderstandings, etc.
Listen up, people. If a society needs a LAW to explain that it really isn't appropriate for an eight year old to be raped by a man of ANY age ... then that society doesn't really need a law .... what it needs is to be VAPORIZED !!! The sooner the better.
