I am exhausted, too. I can’t wait until I can retire, but I bet I work myself to death first. My kids complain the free lunch kids have nicer things than what I buy them, and those kids will go to college for free, too.

My son just started at a public middle school. Apparently, you can eat both breakfast AND lunch at school now. What, a parent who is already receiving WIC for cereal and milk can’t even afford cereal and milk for a kid? That’s all I ever got growing up ....

Damn EFFING LEECHES!!!!

We have a small pediatric clinic and serve mostly Medicaid patients. What used to be a safety net program is now expanded beyond belief. We have many families that speak no english but are covered. We have patients that are covered under Blue Cross, yet have Medicaid as well. What galls me the most is that we have families that drive up in Escalades and Denalis that are covered by Medicaid. Oh, I’ve worked in these clinics. I’ve seen the brand new SUV’s, the brand new school clothes, Coach bags, the hair-do’s, the cell phones ....also watched as they send their sick kids to school and infect everyone else, sending even MORE kids to the free Medicaid clinics to sit and wait for hours with 4 kids in tow, all screaming and crying. Ugh.

We are reversing course, and becoming a third-world nation. The unmarried, young, dependent poor have more and more children.

Fully half of our children are borne into dependent poverty--many no doubt to single mothers. What will become of these children? Statistically, they will not go to college, or learn a skilled trade and the cycle of poverty will continue.

Meanwhile, people who can afford to raise and educate children, wait longer and longer to have children, and have fewer and fewer children.
