Former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s (D-N.Y.) friends believe that, while his campaign for mayor may have become a joke, it will set him up for a future political comeback.
New York voters puzzle over why Weiner stays in the race despite constant ridicule. The city’s tabloids pump out streams of headlines punning on his name while late-night comics have made him a national punch line.
Instead of dropping out, Weiner has embraced the media maelstrom in a calculated gamble that voters would respect his toughness and dedication to their issues.
A new documentary by Stateless Media captures Weiner’s unorthodox campaign strategy, which sometimes resonated and, other times, fell flat with voters.
Weiner’s friends say he is setting himself up for a comeback in another race and another year.
Bill Brandt, a close friend of Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, said Weiner’s campaign will clear the way for a future run for office.

Gawd..did the Gators ever suck today. Driscoll ain’t QB material. He’s absolutely scared to throw the ball down the field , and Miami just compressed their defense. Well, at least we know now that the season is over..they have ZERO chance of a BCS berth. Coach Boom better go and find hisself a QB for next season, or the swamp creatures are gonna get restlesss.

I check the scores, that’s about the extent of it...not surprised they lost. They’ve got a big bag of nothing on offense.
Fearless prediction: Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Huma will quietly announce that she and Weiner have separated. She will be involved big time in Hillary’s campaign, and there is no way that they will allow Weiner to become a sideshow to that.

One of our radio hosts up here described how his campaign used something called “Crowd on Demand”, which pays actors $15 per hour to pretend to be supporters. She also said his campaign had asked them about confronting hecklers, but they wouldn’t for liability reasons.
That Cindy Leathers said Weiner admitted what others had already posted here: he had to use the campaign war chest or lose it (he couldn’t keep it). Right now he is just distributing that money to friends; he isn’t seriously running for mayor (or anything else).
I might watch a quarter or so, out of curiosity.
I can think of an infinity of places I’d rather be than in Tony Weiner’s inner circle waiting for a comeback.
The rent-a-crowd company is not going to drum up a lot of business if they are going to spill their guts like this
